Was waiting for the £25 range, but gotta bite at this price after all the good reviews.

Game is dreadful on pc. It's got some if the worst graphics I've seen in years. The cut scenes are shocking so low resolution. Even of the game ran smoothly it would still look awful. I'm playing at 4k and its the worst game by far I've seen since I started pc Gaming again 20 months ago. Oh yes I'd finally got the game going after endless boring cut scenes and a pop up appeared about turning off augmentation. I checked on steam and there's no fix for this bug. All you can do is back track.
Don't waste your money on this pile of rubbish. It's even worse than no Man's sky. No this makes no man sky look and play like gta 5.

Yeah, same. Wanted to wait for 20-25 but I'll easily put 40-50 hours into this so it's worth it.

Out of curiosity, what GPU are you using?
I'm using a GTX 1080 and just got this up and running at it looks superb.
Definitely needs some extra optimization though.
I was only getting around 30FPS at 4K until I dropped some of the settings.
Even at 1080p I'm looking at around 60-80FPS spikes depending on the area.
I've managed to boost this up even more by disabling MSAA, Contact Hardening Shadows and Volumetric Lighting.
Hopefully gets patched to be a bit more stable and te

In your opinion, do you think 4K is better than things such as contact hardening and Volumetric Lighting? Not having a go or anything, genuinely curious if you think 4K outweighs the bells and whistles of in game settings.

I went with 1080p/144hz in the end, but I would love to experience native 4K gaming.

Cheers :)

In the case of those specific settings, I'd say yes.
4K gaming is a joy to behold, and if you want to keep the visual quality at Ultra or Very High, then I've found the previous 3 mentioned settings need to be turned off to achieve 30 FPS onwards at 4K.
For my personal preference though, I like to play first person games at 60 FPS onwards, so I've chosen to play this at 1080p with everything maxed out.
I played around with 1440p, which looked amazing, but due to the unstable nature of the game atm, I was getting drops from 60 FPS+ down to 40 FPS which took me away from the experience somewhat.

Looks great on High, running very smooth on a 970 at 1080p ... hopefully you have a good graphics card to run at 4k, or there is no surprise that its not a looker

Spectre to Human Revolution's Skyfall, made worse by the painful struggle to upgrade firepower, far less weaponry (sniper rife no longer takes a silencer) and most importantly a lifeless struggle to complete a much shortened game.

Most of the game is set in Prague which is indistinguishable from City 17 in Half Life 2 and the entire game takes as much time as the Detroit sections of Human Revolution. Few Praxis kits in the wild (though available as cash purchases on Steam) and many many other flaws make this a disappointing sequel to one of the finest games ever made.

Still, a great price and worth it to revisit the world even if it's a weak shadow of its former glory. Be warned much of the DLC is for one use - once you spend it it's gone for good

I always take the bells and whistles over native 4k. There are not many games where I can tell the difference between native 4k and my TV up scaling a 1080p signal.
GTA V is the only one I can think of off the top of my head, where I can tell the difference.

The last game was awesome, BUT, you really did have to wait for the released and patched directors editon of the game before you got what the game should have been at launch, so personally i am waiting for the GOTY edition, which by then should be a almost flawless version fo the game, which no doubt will also mean that the stupid one time DLC have been removed from the game.

But if you cannot wait that long i suppose that price is good for a new game, so for that i suppose heat.

Course it will. If your asking if you can max out the settings, 1080p yes, 4k no.

If you mean max as in everything set to the highest possible then no, it won't do it at 1080p consistantly unless you are happy with sub 60fps.

MSAA + other settings are killing performance, regardless if you have high end cards.

I'm usually happy at 40fps but agree if you want 60+ then your going to have to make some cutbacks

SO much hate about this game on PC. Microtransactions - ignore them; one time use DLC - you don't need the DLC to play the game; "crashes all the time" - EITHER turn off your overclock OR turn off MSAA OR get up-to-date drivers.

If you like the Deus Ex series, then you'll like this game (although 5 years for what could be described as a massive data/expansion/mission pack could be argued...).

It's 20/30 hours of FUN whether you play stealth, shooter or a mix (ok, shooting isn't brilliant but Deus Ex IS NOT A FPS.) Recommended.

From the comments it sounds like I should wait a few months for patches and the inevitable price drop.

Story is subpar and is not near the level of HR, the ending is also allegedly terrible.

I, like others, also have hit the infamous crash at mission 14 bug, where it will crash 100% of the time at the subway due to completeing a side mission - the game does have some serious problems.

i love this game and have been stuck for three days straight on that crash, but the tweeted out today a fix will come for ps4/xbox one today and pc tomorrow.

The patch was released on steam a few hours ago, managed to finish it.

Super disappointing ending, went online and looked for more information and it appears this is 1/3 of the game, as SE decided to split it, so expect sequels soon.

I have no idea what their problem is with episodic content, but it explains why the story is so wafer thin and nothing gets resolved.

Edit: Worth waiting until it gets lower in price and patches/DX12 support gets added. I enjoyed my time with it, but definitely the worst Deus Ex game I played, I even preferred Invisible War over it.

The "sequels" can already be bought as part of the Season Pass "Two new story DLC’s - “System Rift” and “A Criminal Past”"

The publisher is really taking the p1ss with this one. But I'll buy it. Am I an idiot? Don't answer that.

I believe it will be like HR's DLC, it will fit in somewhere along the game but absolutely won't be a continuation of the game.

It ended Halo 2-esq, they know what they are doing, they know that as these are prequals they are limited to what they can do, hence why this is part one of a triliogy. Sadly, it's just executed poorly because myself and others really do feel like we have 1/3rd of a story.

yeah i found out just after i posted.

and i did exactly the same as you...the moment "new game + available " i just paused in shock that that was the ending. its horrible. its not even and ending its a obvious end of part 1 of "X".

shame because its a superb game and obviously going to episodic but disguised to try and not be because of the hate of hitman being changed this way.

just note if buying this; its not complete but its worth the money in my opinion. just expect to be strongly persuaded to buy the follow up(s).
