A great selction of games for the price of one new console game :P

Yes most of us have these but if you don't have Steam yet this is a great deal, or if you are after a few games it might be worth getting this and you can give awayswap the others with your mates (as a gift).

Don't vote cold because you already have them or cant be bothered to download them and want it all on DVDs.

--More than worth it for these--

Left 4 Dead
Half-Life
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Portal
Team Fortress 2
Counter-Strike: Source
Day of Defeat: Source

--But you get all these too--

Counter-Strike
Team Fortress Classic
Day of Defeat
Deathmatch Classic
Half-Life: Opposing Force
Ricochet
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
Half-Life: Blue Shift
Half-Life: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
Half-Life Deathmatch: Source
Peggle Extreme

This is a superb deal for all these amazing games - if you're a gamer and you haven't got these, buy them now. If you just want the best stuff, you can buy The Orange Box quite cheaply now! :)

Left 4 Dead is a totally awesome game as is TF2.
#4
This is worth it just for orange box + l4d

becareful when buying this, I remember purchasing CS:Source from steam, and it was a DL basis, therefore when you format your pc etc, you need to download it again. all those title = 50GB?
not sure if this has changed tho. but v.good deal

Just copy the whole "steamapps" folder and you should be fine, you can just install the basic steam client and once thats done dump the "steamapps" folder in place. I'm pretty sure that works fine.

You can also backup steam (which also compresses it iirc) by going to the main Steam window>File>Backup Games.

Everyone must have a 1TB drive by now after all the offers so i'm sure you can copy a backup to another drive\partition

Thanks, I only just started checking out Steam *again* (since it started) originally found it annoying and liked my media (the few I had) to an extent. Now I don't really want to lug my discs around.

You can register non steam games can't you? What would be great is if I could register the codes for games that the disc broke on, I know EA is joining steam, maybe battlefield 2 will be available and I'll be able to download it again for free. Possible?
#21
dont think thats possible, i have cod4 bought on cd, and its now available on steam, but it wouldnt let me use the cd code on steam, i would of had to have bought it again.

instead i just used the "add non steam game" function, and it just puts a shortcut to your non steam games into your "my games" list on steam so you can manage all your games from the same place.

hmm that sucks, they should let you. If you have the code you bought the game. It's on their server they should let you.

very few games are compatible if they are non valve

Bought this for my son - Thanks heat and rep added !

TF2 is the best multiplayer game I have ever played. I would happily pay £40 for that game alone
#27
Is this for a limited amount of time only?

EDIT:

Naturally I have screwed up, wasn't expecting them to take the deal off at a random time of day. Couldn't make my mind up between getting the Valve complete pack or just TF2 and Left 4 Dead.

Expired.
