There's a good one tucked away, the original Overlord game is available on its own for 87p, great price if you don't want to spend the £6 and a bit for the three game pack.

Hot hot hot! I think the majority have been this price before, but good to see them back on offer. L4D/L4D2 have certainly been cheaper previously and may be again in December's steam sale, but are great value nevertheless. I think this is the cheapest Nation Red has ever been, iirc it was around £4 last time. I'm tempted to get Worms Reloaded.
#12
Anyone played Alien vs Predator? Got a lappy with a T6500 and an Nvidia 9600M GT. Will this be sufficiently powerful?
#13
stalker bundle (1 + 2) is also on offer btw, £6.24
#14
Overlord for 87p lol.
#15

#16
Nothing special. Let down Steam, let down.

Apparently so

I'm torn at buying overlord 1 or the complete pack. Anyone ever played the Overlord games? What are they like?
#22
Gotta luv Steam, brought Worms and Nation Red to add to my stupid amount of steam games of 96 but all brought on steam sales except for Left for Dead 2 which I got for £27 on launch.
#23
hrm, mixed bag

getting plants vs. zombies and probably zombie driver/nation red for the brief lols but other than the left4dead pack (which everyone should already own) rest aren't particularly cheaper than you can find em on retail. might give amnesia a pop as it's supposed to be damn good but all the games have demos so better to have a look first

also i'd note left4dead pack isn't particularly worth is as left4dead1, while good at the time, is pretty much..well...dead now, not many playing and doesn't offer much not found in l4d2.

p.s. THQ game of the day is frontlines but though it has some good points even at £1.49 i'd say no as it's buggy and simply not fun, team fortress 2 is £6.99 and while thats a good price you REALLY need to get the orange box as it's an amazing bargain (cheapest base £11, £17 steam last i checked), dogfighter (3d person arcady online plane shooter, well reviewed but not seen many games online) is £1.05, numen (3rd person diablo clone, good to middling reviews) is £1.60, ai war : fleet command £6 (bit more for expansion, well reviewed but try demo first) and stalker 1&2 are £6.24 for the both (CS is maybe most ambitious of seris but also one i played the least as npc's are buggy to all hell, packs only worth it if you can mod SoC with oblivion lost or similar on steam and i'm not sure if you can)

tl;dr : you will not regret getting plants vs. zombies, if you haven't got l4d2 by now get it but it'll come back around on sale soon enough, rest are either too middling or not cheap enough to get unless you've tried demo and like 'em.

edit - overlord is entertaining but i quickly grew bored of it though it is a good blend of puzzle and hacky slashy stuff and the plot is fun. under a quid, all i can say is why the hell not ? got the lot myself from a past steam sale and i'd definately say get 1, but sequels aren't really worth extra dosh IMO

Some pretty good deals

I'm gonna grab Worms Reloaded at 8.99 and possibly Dark Fall: Lost Souls which looks interestingly gruesome
#28
Overlord 87p !!!!!!1111one11!!

I got 33 hours out of that and the expansion I grabbed in a sale last time, it's well worth that if you only laugh at a few of the bad jokes.

Think I'll grab Worms reloaded and take it from there.

There's plenty of people playing whenever I play l4d1 and while it's not up to the same standard as l4d2 I find the characters more likeable, with exception to Louis who is as dull as something that's particularly dull. I've gotten plenty of play out if it thus far (over 100 hours) and still go back to it fairly often.

jesus the only problem is I buy these games from steam sales then never play them - I have a list so huge now that I would have to have absolutely no life and 6 months off on this sick to even attempt to play them. Anyone else have this problem?

I should take the computer into work and play them there :)
#31
Got plants vs zombies on iPhone for 59p. Thats a deal.
#32
I might have to buy Bioshock I think but I'm just wondering if it will work on Windows 7 x64 as I tried the DVD version which I have from when the game was first released and it just froze on a black screen and I couldn't find a patch or solution for it anywhere.
#33
PvZ FTW!
#34
Amnesia Dark Descent should be on everyone's "to buy" list

I've only ever played L4D1 on Steam and I've only been using Steam for a couple of weeks so far, even though I bought both of them in that £7.81 bundle recently.

I can't stand the second L4D personally but there are still plenty of people playing on the 1st one, in fact the best games I've had on it so far have been with other people from this forum.

I didn't even notice that one on the list, I'm sure you might be able to pick it up elsewhere cheaper though because it was only from a small indie developer I think.

I haven't played it yet myself, is it really as terrifying as everybody says it is?

I was in the same boat and ended up just going for the first game. I can't see myself wanting to play through two games and an expansion pack where the sequel is very much a 'more of the same but a bit better' game. Figure at less than a quid you can't go wrong really, plus there's other stuff to spend the extra fiver on right now. Suppose you could always grab the first game, try it over the weekend and grab the pack before the end of the sale if you like it. Worst case scenario you can gift the extra licence to someone.

What problem? I see no problem in that plan... (_;)

Just a general reminder, there's one more day of the THQ deals to go starting at 6pm tonight. Assuming for a moment they're not going to repeat previous offers it could be (deep breath):

Company of Heroes series (please please please be this)
Full Spectrum Warrior
Juiced 2
Saints Row 2
Warhammer 40,000 series
World of Zoo

Technically it could also be S.T.A.L.K.E.R (and the most annoying game title to type ever award goes to...) but that's currently on 75% sale as part of the Halloween event anyway so I'd doubt it. I suppose they could be complete gits and put the THQ complete pack on sale but that might make people tetchy if they've bought individual titles this week. I'd really hope they'd go the Company of Heroes route as it's probably the best title left in their Steam library but we'll see.
