It is the year 2034.
Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above.
But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever.
As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…

Features:
A gripping, story-driven first person shooter, Metro: Last Light is the hugely anticipated sequel to 2010’s critically acclaimed cult classic Metro 2033
Experience thrilling combat with an exotic arsenal of hand-made weaponry against deadly foes – both human and mutant – and use stealth to launch attacks under the cover of darkness
Explore the post-apocalyptic world of the Moscow Metro, one of the most immersive, atmospheric game worlds ever created
Fight for every bullet and every last breath in a claustrophobic blend of survival horror and FPS gameplay
Next generation technology boasting stunning lighting and physics sets a new graphical benchmark on both console and PC

Try boot camping with a Mac pal :)

In fairness though the only two games I find unplayable doing so are L.A Noire and Farcry 3.

This Summer, Metro Redux collects two re-mastered and improved versions of the classic Metro games -- Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux.

Might be worth waiting for this.

You can get Last Light Redux from steam 50% off preorder if you own this. So by getting it for £4 you'd be paying £12.50. That would allow you to play now and the new release.
I don't know if this counts towards the bundle of both games though.

Checked steam, it counts on 2033 too so one could get both games for 20 quid. Not too bad but that does depend on the actual difference between versions.
Personally going to wait for the bundle to be circa 10

You can only buy a 50% discounted bundle if you own both original versions. I only have Metro 2033 on my Steam account atm and it knocks 25% off the bundle price.

I got this for around about the same price in the Steam Sale. I am not really into this type of game. I moved from console to PC because I am more into games like Total War, Sins of a Solar..., Graviteam Tactics and Simulators. However it is a pretty good game and definitely worth this price.

At first I had trouble with the game turning into a slide show. However after some research I found that updating the PhysX drivers fixed this problem because they are not updated when you update the Geforce driver. After the PhysX driver update the problem was solved and I get a good 30 - 60 FPS on Very High settings.
