Link doesn't work.

Its fixed now.

Dunno why people are voting cold. Hot for Sam+Max alone, and it's only day 1 of the sale.
#4
The deals are different each day, so tomorrow at 6pm there will be a new set.

got sam&max 'free' on psn+ otherwise would prob have got it, thinking about getting deus ex tho. any of the others worth getting(already have cs:s)?
#6
awesomesauce

was waiting on CS:S getting cheap for the kids account, cracking :D
#7
So happy I waited for the sales, now gonna get CS:S :)

Never used Steam before, are the games transferable between different PCs? Or are they like OEM products and tied to one PC?

you can use steam on any pc its tied to your own account
but you cant have more than 1 pc signed in at the same time

I bought Deus Ex and the Indie pack.
#11
RUSE is £17.99 on Amazon.

Time to finally get CSS though, hot :)
#12
Really considering Deus Ex.

Brilliant price for Alpha Protocol, don't mind all the bad reviews, its been heavily patched since launch and is a very decent game for a fiver.

Good point. Plus it is a unisoft game so tons of DRM and required to be connected to the internet to play and cannot even save if the net dies...
#15
I unfortunately really like the game, Ubisoft should fix their DRM though you're right.
#16
Borderlands is great fun, played it through twice as different characters. Want an add-on pack now.
#17
I like Steam. It used to be a bit flaky but these days it's pretty solid. Just wish they would let you limit the bandwidth it uses for downloads.

R.U.S.E. uses SteamWorks not UBI's crappy DRM.

The packs offers are very good as well to play with friends - Steam innovating again - however I would really like a significant rival in the digital download space to keep them on their toes

Any only 12 quid spent on first day deals - If I can keep daily average below that (unlikely) i will be happy ;)

Got the indie pack and the deus ex pack .. very good deal .. already have borderlands and CS:S .. borderlands is a great deal .. best get it while you can. And of course if the "valve complete pack" gets any cheaper always a must buy

Heat added, Love the Steam Deals, Love Steam as a whole. Would be great if I could put all my PC games on my Steam Library, so I can get rid of the disks (running out of shelf space lol.)

you can with some, I did, all you need is the registration code from your game. They got to have the game though, plus with downloading from steam its all patched up.

then swear to high heaven when you loose all that money you spent on the games as your account is banned/blocked after being hacked or some error/unexplained reason and steam cs refuse to help when you contact them, not first hand experience but have read horror stories online.

Voted Hot Hot Hot! Deus Ex is a great game. I like Steam a lot like someone said its solid nowadays can donload at max kbps everytime and they do have some great deals. F1 2010 £20 last week or so. cheapest elswhere £25 Zavvi.
I don't want the need for more boxes on the shelves and I dont know the last time I read an instruction manual , games or otherwise:D. Games auto patch/upddate etc so its very convienient. I have online buddies and no horror stories about lost accounts!. I think you will find complaints for everything under the sun if you google it. For the millions of users its a tiny percentage.
I have to agree there support is a bit slow and email only but they have got back within 48 hours and solved all my issues.
Just wish Black Ops would come on special as £39,99 is hard to bear. :(

Love Steam sales. Always an actual "sale".

Everyone needs CounterStrike.
#28
The Deus Ex deal is great. Although Invisible War was a bit disappointing (it was perhaps impossible to live up to the original Deus Ex though), still worth £1.50
#29
Tempted by Deus Ex being in the deal. I really liked the original when it came out but have no time now days :( Have some heat!
#30
Ignore everyone who refers to "horror stories" about Steam, generally if you lose your Steam account you have to be pretty dumb or lazy in regard to security in the first place. Sometimes people add you on Steam and ask you for your account details pretending to be Steam Support but you have to be so stupid to fall for that.
#31
Does anyone know if I can download the same game on PC and MAC? The Indie pack looks awesome!

--EDIT
Just found that the games the the SteamPlay logo can be installed on both PC and Mac for the same price.

Cant beat Steam should be a busy few days, one thing I wish they did was offer trade ins even if it was only for a couple of pound here and there got so many games I could do without and would be better off using the money towards a new game. Capsule gaming do this but its a really poor client compared to Steam.
#33
This is both brilliant news, and bad news. Steam sales always suck me into them, and I buy more games than I should, but then again, some of them are such bargains that I can't really miss them! I've already bought that Sam and Max season. I'm sure more will follow.
#34
boarderlands :D
#35
Does anyone want to share a half life 2 pack, Ive never played it and would like to take advantage of the 10 for £13.99. Only problem is we need around 5-6 people to make it worth it
#36
Jesus, are people still playing Counterstrike? That's a blast from the past.
#37
Why no mention of prototype at £7.49? A good game imo.

might as well get the goty edition from amazon for £14.99(might me cheaper elsewhere tho I haven't checked) as getting the dlc pack adds £18-£19(£28-£29).

steam did have an offer on borderlands awhile back where they had the dlcs quite cheap but I didn't get the game at that time.

I agree that its a good game but to be honest I don't think the PC version is worth that much even, they didn't adapt it very well. Sure its functional but without a gamepad its pretty irritating.

they've added new games but the ones from yesterday are still on sale, are they all going to be the sale price untill the 29th/30th or do the sale prices take a few hours to change back to normal price(i.e. the games from yesterday will go back up in the next few hours)?
