No, not the latest one.
This is MW1

Personally I thought it was better than MW2. But not nearly as good as Battlefield Bad Company 2 ;-)

There's still a healthy online community, and plenty of servers supporting MW1

This is indeed two generations down. There is no reason this game should have this kind of pull. Apart from the fact that people are stupid.

Latest is not greatest.

This is the best game in the Call of Duty series, much better online community with dedicated server support, runs a lot better on slightly older hardware (most reasonable pc's can run it), excellent community/ mod support and a fantastic bargain at £9.99.

BUY IT!

You obviously haven't played it online - This is an experience like no other, probably the best £10 you'll spend all year:thumbsup:

+1 A great game at this price. Loads of servers, Same graphics as MW2 (just tweaked) but with dedicated servers.
Its not 2 generations down, not even 1. Same engine as MW2. Just different perks and killstreaks, MW2 just cashed in on this game. COD4 is the best COD so far.

Bad company 2 is better though.

If I didn't already have them I would be buying this and Left 4 dead 2 this weekend. Multiplayer heaven.

One generation down surely. It is a good game for almost 3 years old. If you haven't got it then there's no time like now.

Nice attitude. This game's well worth a tenner.

Well, maybe it is just me, but I got this game when it was released, gosh how many years ago now? So to me it is quite the mystery as to why someone would pay a good tenner for a gamer that is just-so-old. I suppose it is good and all, but not seriously the best.

I have played it online, albeit I am not much FOR online gaming. I like to get a game, finish it quick, then move on. Online gaming requires too much time, hours and life spent on them for me to seriously care. Too many good games out there. heck even on the wii.

I agree with you on two things. Bad company IS better. oh and there is really nothing like left 4 dead games. Awesome. I wonder if someone has a share-able license to the left 4 dead 2 game on the pc. Steam is not very tolerant of my payment card, and my divorce caused me to cut up my credit cards.

Wasn't meant to be directed at someone personally. Apologies. Hey if you think the game is worth it, then my opinion is hardly going to change anything is it? ;-)

Best game in the CoD series, probably better than the latest CoD MW2
#16
A lot of gameplay to be had for a tenner.

I have the boxed version of this but will flog it and buy this for the convenience of having it on Steam.

Is this a difficult game, or can noobs go onto certain servers to spruce their skills?

This explains it ;-)

DON'T BUY THIS, you will spend the rest of your life playing it, take it from me!

I bought this from Gameplay for £14.99 last month as it didn't seem to be getting any cheaper :x

I'm no hardcore gamer and don't really play on-line cos I'm selfish but after some perseverance I've really got into this. Start with Team Deathmatch and try to pick servers with only a handful of players and after a while you'll start to get used to the maps and be able to create a decent class. There's a server, Marvin I think it might be, that shows you a replay of how you were killed from the point of view of the person that blew you brains out......which is nice and educational!

Great Deal best COD game about MW2 was a total mess (akimbo guns, mad over the top kill streak rewards, easy knive kills, lack of dedicated servers, mods, hackers etc). MW1 is well worth a tenner for a fast paced rush, spray and arcadey shooter though I also have to say Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a must also, best game ive played in a long time.
#22
Good deal, the cod games hardly ever come down in price.
#23
£5 too expensive in my opinion (plus its digital so should be even less than a boxed copy).

Did play promod for a year, still debating whether to go back or stick with bc2 (bc2 servers are dire, prefer the competitive nature of cod4 server options). I prefer using vehicles in mp so thats why I hope Dice release another patch soon since there is quite a few bugs that need fixing (no flares on helicopters)

What does the GOTY Edition have that the standard version doesnt, are there map packs etc, as ive read on other posts on this site that the GOTY edition for for consoles no longer has any map packs with them.Im just curious as to why there classed as GOTY editions.
#28
Hi sorry for posting this but does anyone know when the new add-on to modern warfare 2 comes out on pc.
I think it's called the 'stimulus package' or something like that?
#29
great game and yes its better than modern warfare 2, the online community is probably bigger atleast on pc compared to the sequal game you'd be stupid not to get it.

Just means it is patched up to version 1.x

V1.7 is the latest, since it is steam of course it is up to date and therefore counts as GOTY edition.

Thanks matey.. have some rep

I get lost with all the editions. I have the first one and second one. Then had one where you were a sniper for one part and had the leafy camoflaged clothes. Have just got modern warfar 2 with a G Card I bought. Does any one know what the "leafy camoflaged clothes" one was for the PC?
#33
great deal, better than modern warfail 2
#34
I liked World at War myself but at a tenner I'll have to grab this.

Left for Dead 2 is £13 odd as well.
#35
Good price. Next cheapest I can find is £14.99 at Amazon and Play.com though of course this deal is not for a boxed version.
#36
It's a good game and is all about playing multiplayer online.
#37
almost thought it was mw2 there for a moment. Damn!
#38
I bought mw2, and it would be a good game if it had dedicated servers! Not played cod4 for about a year until I saw this offer, Installed my version from cd and my opinion, cod4 winner hands down I actually want to play most of the maps hehe, Can I advertise a game server here (free for all)?
#39
Been waiting for this :)

Grabed this. tar for posting
