Excellent game and now it is only £3.39 instead of £9.99 what a great bargain for a great game. I'll be getting this one.

ABOUT THE GAME
Braid is a puzzle-platformer, drawn in a painterly style, where you can manipulate the flow of time in strange and unusual ways. From a house in the city, journey to a series of worlds and solve puzzles to rescue an abducted princess. In each world, you have a different power to affect the way time behaves, and it is time's strangeness that creates the puzzles. The time behaviors include: the ability to rewind, objects that are immune to being rewound, time that is tied to space, parallel realities, time dilation, and perhaps more.

Braid treats your time and attention as precious; there is no filler in this game. Every puzzle shows you something new and interesting about the game world.

Key features:
Forgiving yet challenging gameplay:
Braid is a 2-D platform game where you can never die and never lose. Despite this, - -Braid is challenging but the challenge is about solving puzzles, rather than forcing you to replay tricky jumps.

Rich puzzle environment:
Travel through a series of worlds searching for puzzle pieces, then solving puzzles by manipulating time: rewinding, creating parallel universes, setting up pockets of dilated time. The gameplay feels fresh and new; the puzzles are meant to inspire new ways of thinking.

Aesthetic design:
A painterly art style and lush, organic soundtrack complement the unique gameplay.

Nonlinear story:
A nonlinear fiction links the various worlds and provides real-world metaphors for your time manipulations; in turn, your time manipulations are projections of the real-world themes into playful "what-if" universes where consequences can be explored.

Nonlinear gameplay:
The game doesn't force you to solve puzzles in order to proceed. If you can't figure something out, just play onward and return to that puzzle later.

Hot for me, now this is just a lovely game.

Bargain - I bought it when it was £4.95 @ direct2drive ( http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/449761/braid-pc-4-95-direct2drive/ )

Yeah, that's a good deal. A well regarded game, but not my sort of thing.

Hot though without question.
#4
possibly THE best game to come from xbox live arcade

I have heard good things about this game. Will give it a try, hope I don't get hooked!

Awesome deal, I loved the demo and have been waiting for it to come down from £9.99, didn't expect it to ever be this cheap though!
#8
good game, but be warned - some of the puzzles will melt your brain!

Do I need a Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows to play this game?

Got it cos its highly rated. I think its okay. Nice to see a 2D platformer back.

Also saw the 50% of strategy first games.

Tempted to get Jagged Alliance 2 Gold. Although its 50% off, the original price seems a tad high though. Any advice?

Thanx

Braid is a fantastic game - unlike a lot of much bigger budget games it actually has a simple yet compelling storyline - something that had me thinking for a long time after I had (finally) finished the game itself. For under four quid? Bargain.

Awesome deal and brilliant game. I managed to complete it on the Xbox 360 in about 4 days which is a short lifespan for a game I know but great value considering the amount of hours it took.

This is one of the only games that's ever made me feel quite emotional - thanks in part to the fantastic soundtrack. You'd be mad to miss it at this price.

Did you mean the $9.99 direct download from Strategy First site? That's excluding the extended download option, so may be Steam is a better if you lose the data.

Also worth looking at Good Old Games to see if their prices drop in the future. No gold pack, but main JA2 is $9.99 and $5.99 for each expansion at present.

HOT, most definitely! Beats paying 1200 points on Xbox Live and even my old PC will run it :-)

Devilishly intelligent game - has already chewed through a couple of evening of my life - highly recommended and a bargain at this price.

There was a half price offer for all Strategy First games on Steam although it doesn't appear to be on anymore.

Jagged Alliance Gold was £6.99:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/1620/

And when combo'd with both Disciples II games it was £8.49:
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/96/

As the ratings on Disciples II were fairly high and it is a turn-based strategy game, I guess I'll like it so it made sense to buy the bundle under half price.

I just wish the X-Com complete pack was £2.99 again!
