Normally sells for around £60 for the 5H v2 and £70-£80 for the 5H v2 USB. (5H v2 is currently £56.91 @ Currys, 5H v2 USB is currently £74.99 @ Amazon or £67.56+delivery @ Ebuyer).

It's worth noting that the only difference between the two is the detachable USB soundcard (headphone jacks plug into the USB device, but are removeable and can be plugged directly into your PC). However, for the avid gamer the 7.1 surround sound USB soundcard is definitely worth the upgrade - though in this case it works out cheaper anyway!

This is a fantastic headset. As someone who has gone through her fair share of Sennheisers, Creative Fatal1tys and many more, I believe that this is a high quality headset and I am extraordinarily pleased with it - so much so that I bought it when it was on offer a couple of months ago for £44.99, and since using it have given the first one to the boyfriend and have been waiting to try get hold of it for that price again!

Some of the high points from a gamers point of view: both microphone and sound are high quality, microphone can be slid back inside the headset on a smooth mechanism, headset is detachable into 3 parts for easy travel (lan parties/tourneys), the wires are covered with fabric and seem a lot more sturdy than the wires on most models (which from personal experience are easily damaged by being so long around chairs with wheels!) and most importantly of all, the headset looks and feels incredibly sexy with big sturdy ear muffs that cuddle your head! :D

I would have no qualms recommending this to anyone, it hands-down beats my previous headsets.

A great gift for the gamer in your life!

Good price for something that is normally £65.

I've had this, and in all honesty, I prefer the Creative Fatal1ty headset, which is cheaper but higher quality imo, contructed better with similar sound quality and lasts longer.

Difference is of course this is a USB headset, so will be a hot deal for e.g. "pro gamers" who want the benefit of being able to plug into any machine and get the same quality sound (once drivers installed) rather than relying on random PC's to have good sound cards.

Wow I'm suprised at that tbh :) I've gone through two Creative Fatal1tys, the mic on the first one gave up after a couple of weeks, so was sent a replacement by Dell after faffing around with CS (this was back when they were on offer for £15), and the second one lasted around 3 months before the flimsy wires started to break around the volume control. Had to resort to sellotaping it up and it lasted just under a year.

Despite the problems I had, I did actually like the fatal1ty (another one of those comfy hug-your-head headsets with decent sound quality!), but personally I believe the sound, mic and construction quality are all far superior on the 5H.

But hey, each to their own!

It might just be I'm biased towards the Fatal1ty headset because it's cheaper :P

But yeah, it really is personal opinion, as it might just be that I'm not very good at being able to tell the difference between "good" sound quality and "very good" sound quality, which might be the case when comparing both headsets.

Great price! I paid a little more than the £39.99 for my set and I’ve been impressed with the quality of the sound and the manufacture of the headset itself.

VOTED HOT!

Isn't this the one that all the reviews said was great for competitive gaming but not so great with music and atmosphere? Or was that the version 1?
