TKMaxx have had Steiff animals in for a while at around 50% of RRP.

Now they are in the sale and most are 75% off or more!

Some have been mauled by the dribbly customers, need to pick carefully, but there are loads of bargains, e.g. this big (45cm) Wolf for £13, which has an RRP of £75 (and was previously £40 in TKMaxx before the sale).

There are loads of different bears, cats, dogs! Great christening presents!

Edit: the bears were originally posted by donttouchthehair three months ago:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/561323/steiff-white-lizzy-bear-sitting-26c

but since then have gone in the sale, e.g. the Lizzy Bear listed at £19.99 is now £9.99.

RRP means nothing.

RRP = Recommended Retail Price, it's only a price where someone recommends that it sells for that, it isn't the price that it used to be.

It never was £75.

Same as any other shop, RRP is a misleading bunch of rubbish.

Steiff bears cost a lot and this one is 45cm long. It is no longer on the Steiff site but e.g. this husky 25 cm long is £50:
http://www.wichtelladen.de/images/artikel/ST069215.jpg

and the one pictured is 45cm long. So - yes it was once sold for £75 I bet.
#3
The 45cm animals seem to be £80 on the Steiff site, e.g. this panther:

Your missing the point, RRP means nothing.

It's a misleading way to make people think it was once that price.

That's like going to Harrods and buying soap for £20 then get excited when it's £5, it doesn;t change the fact it was overpriced in the beginning.
#5
I think you are missing the point, £13 for a large Steiff toy is a good price for what it is. Yes bears cost much less from other makes, but if you are looking for a gift or for something to last, this is a pretty good bet!
#6
You also have to remember that 90% of TK Maxx products are seconds or have some kind of flaw.

I work there and it's a fact.

When did I say it was a bad price?

I'm not disputing that, I'm saying RRP is misleading on everything and it is.

Double post - it posted my comment twice.

Yeah that's another way of putting it lol

TKmaxx isn't what it was years ago, you USED to get a genuine bargain, nowadays it doesn't really seem much cheaper than anywhere else - I'm not saying there isn't the odd bargain, but they seem few and far between.
#13
I followed the link but can't find any toys, yet alone Steiff - where are they?

Its an instore thing I think. Not sure if its natioinwide, if it helps anyone there is quite a variety in both the Charlton and Lewisham branches.

As well as your views on RRP (which is a game every shop plays) could we have your views on the "discounted" prices for these Steiff bears?? :p

Why is this dispute even going on. The price is amazing. there are rrp's on nearly every item ever sold. But one thing you cant dispute is supply and demand. This governs the price of anything and everything. These prices quoted are fantastic, profits to be made on fleabay. Check the prices that ARE being paid for them, then come back and argue your point then. The other person pointing out that they are not surprised people dont post here is damn right. Nearly every post i read these days has some moan or groan abou something. for example , im voting cold as ive allready got 2. whats that got to do with the deal. as quoted , vote and move on.

Well said, too many moaners only interested in bringing others down. Rubbish deal by the way.:whistling:

It's a shame Steiffs are now made in China.

Anyone that knows the brand will realise that they are usually very expencive no matter where you look.
People can say what they wish about the RRP, but his is one brand that does tend to stick close to that in the stores and online shops.

For instance, this 60cm laying down huskey is being sold for £75 on this online retailer and in jenners they had mid size pandas of similar size going for the same price.

http://www.beargarden.co.uk/product_details.php?id=3734&cat=2 (this is the huskey in a similar pose and size to the wolf)

Exactly my thoughts!:whistling:

It is a brilliant price. People collect Steiff and they do cost a small fortune. So this is a HOT deal. Thanks for posting.

Don't vote cold or whinge just because you can find a wolf soft toy for 50p down your local charity shop. People who want quality soft toys will love this bargain.

I'm going to look and see if there are any down my local TKMaxx. Fingers crossed.

LOL - dribbly customers!!

Agreed, A few January's ago I picked up a bunch of clothing with red stickers of £1 - £2, Jeans, Shirts, Jumpers. There are no bargains anymore.

A few years ago in the horsham store my mum and 13 year old neice went in as they were reducing all sale items to 30p!.. they got pretty much everything in their size, baskets of stuff for just a few £'s.

At least 99% off of rrp i'd say. Although we all know now that rrp is rubbish!

Voted Hot!
I got a 45cm Alsation in Liverpool for £13 last week, and got a similar sized Boxer for £20, they also had a Rottweiler, Beagle and Chiwawa for £11 each - absolute bargain if you can get one!!
#28
Got the chihuahua this morning in Preston for 11 quid.
#29
I voted hot!

Steiff is excellent - their quality is second to none! I have been to the original Steiff shop in Berlin and the merchandise is neither cheap nor tacky.

Steiff is the Rolls oyce of soft toys -you get what you pay for.

I am off to TK Max - hopefully my store will have some of these beautiful soft toys in stock -I will fill my boots!

I voted hot solely because the phrase 'mauled by dribbly customers' gave me my first laugh of the day.
Cheers! :)
