50pence a can, will be having a few dozen of them, is this just in express?
#2
Its possible, currently its Walkers Variety 18pks, and from Wednesday, Stella!

Tramp heaven!

24 x 440ml cans for £12.99 at Sainsburys, so this is even cheaper!
#5
I beg to differ!!! 8 440ml cans x3 = £12 so 99p cheaper than Sainsbury's!!

I beg to differ but the other post was not saying that Sainsbury's was cheaper .. they clearly state "THIS is cheaper".

Real Stella, from Belgium, is a fantastic beer and DOES NOT give a headache - no matter how much I drink.

British Stella, brewed under license in the UK, tastes like ****, is too fizzy and can give me a headache next day after only one can. I have no idea what they put in it here, but it's nothing like the real thing.

"Brewed under license" kills beers. It killed Cobra and it killed Heineken. Thankfully Heineken had the sense of pulling production back to Holland a little while ago.

Check the tags and if it's not imported don't buy it, it sucks.

Expect to see lay-abouts as early as 9:30 am on park benches with an 8-pack next to them. I thought the Govt. was going to stop supermarkets selling booze at such silly prices in order to discourage binge drinking.

I'm off for 2 weeks at Chrismas, the gov can sod off of they think they can stop me binge drinking! :whistling:

Good deal, is it Tesco Express only or are the big Tesco stores doing it as well.

don't know for sure, but the past offers of the week...jaffa cakes triple pack, walkers 18pk, etc HAVE been in superstore as well, so 'probably'...
#12
Yippee - another great Tesco alcohol deal that will be sold out everytime I go into a Tesco (rem Carlsberg export or Baileys). Hot nevertheless.
#13
well, atleast tesco is trying to get the offer to as many customers as possible by putting it in express as well.....
i was gutted not to have the baileys £8 bottle in our store...
and don't forget the people behind the tills are customers too!

Yes, but this is Britain where the mediocre or, in this case, less than mediocre is accepted without question. 95% of British people can't tell a decent drink from a **** one so they just chill it until it can barely be tasted and drink it.

I doubt that importing your beer from Belgium is likely to be a Hot Deal.

Yet more unnecessary bureaucracy - responsible drinkers get punished for the actions of chavs and neds who can't control their testosterone outputs.

Never seen layabouts drinking Stella - you must be from a posh area.

All the Stella we used to get here in the UK used to be imported, until they gave Interbrew license to manufacture here in the UK. We then had a period of both being available, but now it's almost exclusively UK brewed Stella.

Still works out cheaper usually. Sadly Costco only seem to do the UK **** now but many corner shops still have the Belgian stuff at a bargain price. There's one near my mates house and I fill the boot every time I visit.

That would be Interbrew, the BELGIAN brewing company that are now called InBev that have the rights to Stella everywhere. Most popular brand lager sold in supermarkets that gets posted on HUKD is barely any different from an unbranded generic can of lager. Bottom end, brewed as cheaply as possible and sold to people who drink it for the sake of drinking it. People think they are getting a bargain when it pops up for half price. Honestly, it would barely be a bargain if it were 10p a can.

Belgian or otherwise, it doesn't taste the same as the Stella available on the continent.

Clearly, the ingredients are different - or maybe its got a fair amount to do with the water - either way, it's not really that good in comparison.

People have always drank generic lagers and beers - the prices have perhaps never been fair, but there's not a lot the consumer can do about that - it is therefore a bargain at this price for those that drink it - whether you think so or otherwise.

\o/ Our local has got 20+ cases ready for the offer start on Thursday.

Probably 'imported' from Belguim (or Tesco Calais) in the back of a transit van!

Wow so do u work in a TESCO store?? Is that how u get all this information
#26
just been in my local tesco express and its 8 cans 4 £6.50
#27
remember start date....tomorrow! Express promo's change on Wednesday's
#28
been to carnforth tesco's which isn't a metro. they have stella stacked to the roof as you walk in but no price. asked at customer service who said it was for promo tomorrow (wednesday) i asked if it was 8 cans for £4 & the guy behind the counter smiled at me. i take that as a yes! if so i'm there early in the morning. my husband only drinks stella so we'll stock up. just because we buy in bulk doesn't mean he'll binge drink. he has a couple of cans in an evening to relax after a hard days work carpet fitting. it's way cheaper than going to the pub & we bulk buy to make our money go further. christmas is coming up so we'll be having friends & family round too (not that i have to justify what / how much i buy). thank you to the person that posted originally. x

this website has been a godsend and its good to be able to give a heads up on the deal, this site is about spreading the word on good deals.....some comments i've seen over the months have lost the idea that people post deals to be helpful....
i prefer the idea of voting hot or not at all, cold votes seem like criticism and how can you criticize someone being helpful?
duplicate posts are an issue but only that someone has got over enthusiastic and not checked properly....don't shoot people down in flames over it.....bit of support people!!!!
meanwhile enjoy the beer ( yes even those of you who will only enjoy it if its imported!)...and keep up the good work
#30
Mrs Nutt, your very much welcome, hope you and your family have a wonderful christmas and you don't have to worry, checkout staff don't judge ;)
#31
yes Mr Info....i'm one of the 'evil empire's' minions!
as a point though, its no better or worse than any other retailer and my companions are actually quite human, contrary to public opinion! (there are exceptions of course, but no more than other jobs..)
Like all shops we tend have disguises that make us 'look' like brainless, unfeeling machines to some customers, but given courtesy we have a habit of being nice, helpful....even useful!....most of the time...
maybe i should petition for a 'hug a shop employee this christmas time' week..... do you think we could get bob geldof to do the tune......altogether now....'here's to you trying to get out the door......here's to them underneath that pile of stock....do they enjoy this christmas time at allllllll!.......
#32
hi, has anyone actually found this offer in a tesco express store?? i've been to 3 today & the staff have said they havent heard anything about it
#33
Nope been to express and normal store today and no £4 for 8 only £6.50 for 8, so voting cold as it does not appear to be an offer.
#34
Just got to a pc..... this IS still going ahead, Tesco decided to launch on Thursday rather than Wednesday....the advertising HAS arrived in store today....i can only apologise for the fact the date mysteriously changed.....the only other change is that customers are limited to a case of 24 per visit....if i can find a tesco link to the deal i'll post it asap! keep the faith!
#35
Sorry but voted Cold - the deal was posted as £4.00 for 8 from Wednesday.

Went to get some today and got charged £6.50.

The 2 for £4.00 offer was showing on the home page of the Tesco.com grocery site on Tuesday night. That means it was definitely a genuine offer that was due to be launched on Wednesday and clearly the OP posted in good faith.

Bubba, i can only apologise for the fact the date changed, next time i will only post once an offer is going through the tills, i posted early purely as a 'heads up' so people could choose whether it was a deal worth waiting for.
Not that it helps but once i found out the date had changed, i was imagining people making wasted journeys....not a nice thing to know you've probably created!
ClashInDevon, thanks for your comment and i'm still looking for a link!
i'm guessing its to late to say first post so be kind!
