Even if it was free, i wouldn't go. However i guess some people have to go for work, or to visit family.

What about the troubles though?

What troubles are you on about?

I don't like the city myself as I prefer Dublin but that a personal opinion - nothing to do with "the troubles".

Belfast is one of the safest cities in the UK. Give it a go and find out for yourself. There are loads of tourists these days, taking in some good shopping facilities, and plenty of places of interest to see. The open top bus tours are very popular.
#11
Take up this offer and visit Belfast and see for yourself that its a great place to visit and very safe, probably safer and has a better atmosphere than many cities on the mainland. And if you stay for longer than a day you will be able to see the brilliant scenery and outstanding scenery arround Northern Ireland. No poor Euro rate required its pound for pound very good value and plenty to see and do.

Ah, mystery solved. I hadn't realised there were still people that read headlines in the Telegraph and quoted it to other as an authoritive opinion.

Beware of the edge of the earth.. you'll fall over...
