StenaLine have a great day trip deal to Glasgow from Belfast for only £10 day return (Wed and Thurs) and £15 on Saturdays leading up to Christmas. Great for a bit of Christmas shopping, visiting the Christmas Markets, or going to visit Father Christmas at Hamleys Toy Shop!

I think Santa even makes an appearance on the boat on Saturdays in December....

I've done this day trip as part of a similar summer deal - you depart around 7:30am, return to Belfast for 9:45pm, and get around 4-5 hours in the afternoon in Glasgow after a coach transfer (which is in a decent Ulsterbus Goldline). From memory I've got some nice Yankee Candle and Benefit stuff from the onboard shop too.

They also run day trips to Soar at Braehead on Sun 11th for the same price, where you can go indoor skiing, rock climbing etc:

Hope it's useful to someone.

It's really good for an early kick off match - unfortunately not so much for the 3pm kick offs as you'll miss the return bus (think you need to be in Glasgow to head back around 4:30PM)!

Yeah, don't know why they don't do that, would be very handy for my parents living in Glasgow too - StenaLine must think there's nothing in Belfast worth visiting!:D

Especially now Titanic Belfast is the world's leading tourist attraction, allegedly (personally think it's not even Belfast's leading tourist attraction!)..... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-38183075

Looked into going to Belfast for the day with a pal back in May, as foot passengers. Couldnt believe the price compared to West coast calmac r.e.t.fares - think was it £84 quid each, return from Glasgow! Currently £28.60 return to Barra from Oban, for a 5.5 hour sailing, which is more than double Stena's Superfast N.Ireland crossing.

It can be mad, I normally book through citylink and they have an open apex return for £40-£50 (but that's Belfast to Glasgow). Cheaper to fly a lot of the time, but good if you have luggage as it saves a bit!

Always seems cheaper into Scotland.

Yeah, I asked stena about it so maybe they'll consider a similar offer the other way in the new year as Belfast becomes more popular with tourists :)

I went with stenaline last month from Cairnryan to Belfast as a foot passenger for £10 return and was also given a free all day travel card to use on the Metro service. Well worth the money

It's nowhere near belfasts top tourist attraction despite the claims ..yes a lot of people go there but if they bothered to hang around for their feedback it's disappointing and I'm from Belfast and been to Titanic

I agree, the outside of the building is the most impressive part, better saving the money and not going inside!

Nothing you can't watch on a video as everything is on TVs in it anyway ..no grand staircase or anything grand at all ..shameless tricksters
