Last seen together in the box-office smash Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby director Adam McKay brings Will Ferrell and John C Reilly back together again in Step Brothers!

In Step Brothers Ferrell plays Brennan Huff, a sporadically employed thirty-nine-year-old who lives with his mother, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen). Reilly plays Dale Doback, a terminally unemployed forty-year-old who lives with his father, Robert (Richard Jenkins). When Robert and Nancy marry and move in together, Brennan and Dale are forced to live with each other as step brothers. As their narcissism and downright aggressive laziness threaten to tear the family apart, these two middle-aged, immature, overgrown boys will orchestrate an insane, elaborate plan to bring their parents back together. To pull it off, they must form an unlikely bond that maybe, just maybe, will finally get them out of the house.

Thought the movie was ok. Been broadcast on sky movies at the moment.

It clearly states its a 15 rating - how old are your kids?

Watched this a week or so ago on Sky Premiere - Loved it - silly humour, but laugh out loud in parts.

Might go for this at this price for the extras.

EDIT: Just ordered one.

"ITS THE ******* CATALINA WINE MIXER!!!!!!"

This film is worth the watch, the digital copy is a plus especially seeing as it'd be a few quid on iTunes.

You are everthing that is wrong with this site!

It's hot because it's a good price for the film, regardless of whether you like it or not, if mamma mia was on here for £2 i wouldn't rate that cold because i don't like the film, if you don't like it don't vote, the heat isn't meant to be judged on your narrow minded opinion!

I love this film, lol.

What's that line..

"You're still a dick, but you got a great collection of nudey mags."

"Yeah, I got them from the 70s, 80s and 90s..it's like masturbating in a time machine."

LMAO.

There are so many funny moments in this film, silly humour ftw!
#33
This is such a funny film, I must admit I thought at first it was gonna be a load of rubbish & not my sense of humour..I mean 2 nearly 40 year olds living at home, how funny can that be?.....but I nearly split my sides with laughter. Love it. (Especially love the job interviews!)
#34
Awesome film. Soo funny. And for the person who bought it for their KIDS that just bad parenting.

Ouch! I guess I left myself wide open for that – should’ve really explained myself a bit better before rushing out on Friday.

Although I refer to my children as ‘kids’ they’re more like young
adults - son is 14 and daughter 12 so not really kids anymore.

I bought this movie together with two others from Sainsbury’s (3 for £10).
The other two, ‘Yes man’ and ‘Zohan’ were rated 12 and they were really
good. I noticed ‘Step brothers’ had a 15 rating but thought if it was anything
like Anchorman, which was sheer brilliance, then it would be worth a try (although a bit risky) – apart from a few mild sexual references I can’t recall any abusive language in Anchorman.

Sadly the 15 minutes we watched of Step Brothers were nothing like Anchorman.
In fairness, on the back of the DVD there is indication that the movie contains strong language and sex reference which I had not seen at the time.
The 15 age restriction on Step Brothers is unfortunate as If it weren’t for the language and sexual remarks then this movie would appeal to a younger audience.

Unfortunately it’s not one I’ll be keeping in my collection so whoever wants
it is welcome to it - send me a private message with you address details.

In a strange way, apart from the lambasting of Biblical proportion, I feel somewhat honored to have been the catalyst for such heated comments.

Difference is though, Anchorman is only rated 12 - hence the difference in content / language, etc, and suitability for under 15's.

Basically you bought a 15 rated DVD for two children under 15 - you shouldn't really complain about the content. :whistling:
