I've just seen that it says members only. Not sure if that means just those with a current subscription.... Do you already have an audible account?

Try the 3 month deal linked in the opening post. Not sure if its still valid though. You might want save any credits you get for full price books though as they can be much more expensive than the books in this deal.

Yep worth a go. I read 'the dark half' many many years ago and enjoyed that too

Have read every one of Stephen Kings books, not many that i didnt enjoy. The Stand is one of his best but his star has to be the Gunslinger series, absolutely brilliant, shame it ever had to end. Dont think it will be in the deal but The Talisman (with Peter Straub), is also a superb book. Then theres the Green Mile, Stand By Me, the list is endless

I've just ordered all of The Dark Tower books through this deal. Or all except the 8th book which seems to be a side novel.

The Talisman is included in the offer. Is it part of a series as Audible call it The Talisman Book One?

I can add a recommendation for the stand. I have also listened to Mr Mercedes and it was good as well.

Both of the follow ups to Mr Mercedes are included in the offer.

There's two in total. The sequel is called Black House.

Not sure about this, but are there any Stephen King books which have been narrated and saved to YouTube? This would mean you could just play YouTube to listen to the book, rather than use Audible. This might save you £7.99 a month or £96 a year?

Ok, so this does work! Proof of concept

Once you buy the books on Audible they are yours to keep, you don't need to subscribe to keep listening to them.
Can you download the YouTube audio books? I usually listen to books while I'm in the car, or wandering around the house so need something that is mobile and would bookmark my place.

Oddly I have also read all of his books, except the Gunslinger series, I read the first one and thought it was awful. I do have the second and third on my shelf but they have been sat there since they first came out and I can't bring myself to read them after the first one.

IT, is brilliant,

The book is a cocaine nightmare. Infinite voids and a space turtle, there's a reason the mini series shifted focus.

Is it part of a series as Audible call it The Talisman Book One?[/quote]The Talisman does have a sequal, it is set a long time later, also written in collabaration with Straub, called The Black House, it also features tie ins and glimpses of the Dark Tower scenario, a great book on its own. The eigth Dark Tower book, Whistle Down The Wind? is a standalone, it gives a glimpse into the past of the young gunslinger and dabbles on the origins of the beginning,it is a great aside to the series, full of Kings twists and turns and keeps you glued, leaves you wanting more

I love the Dark Tower series because of its Western gunslinger type plot but also the 'where is it/when is it' scenario, Once its set its basic scenario it does tend to be more of a character led 'play' style for a while. Well worth tring again if you have five minutes.

A lot of people have said that the first book is more like a prologue than a standalone novel. They get better as you go through the series apparently.

I was in the same boat - love King but having read (endured?) the first in the Gunslinger Series I was like "really? all the hype for this" But honestly, give the drawing of the three a go. The opening chapter gets you and it really doesn't let go. Eventhough it's almost twice the length of the first book I read it in half the time.

It really doesn't disappoint - can't wait to start the Wastelands soon

Thank God - I thought I was the only one.
Love most of SK's books, and I've read The Stand every year since I was in my teens (so we're talking decades, here!), but I couldn't get into the Gunslinger books at all.

It gets a LOT better after the first one. If you're not hooked after reading the second book then I'd say it's probably not for you.

Piracy, not available offline, wont play when backgrounded/locked on phone (on ios, at least), won't remember where I was when I return & the one sole comment politely asks if someone could upload the ending :/

One of my favourite king books (I've read most of them) is Pet Semetary (that's how it's spelt before anybody jumps on the grammar wagon!) is one of the best books of his I've read. It's one of those situations where you know it's wrong but in the same situation you'd probably do the same, it's heart wrenching and a dark story that touches on one of the worst things that could happen to any parent .
I highly recommend that if anybody wants to read it.

Don't skip Wind through the Key Hole. It takes place between the fourth and fifth book and is sort of a bridging novel. It's a wonderful book and shouldn't be missed.

I wonder if you can download this using KODI and use an app to bookmark/use offline. Should be possible...

If you already own any of these books on Kindle it's worth checking on Amazon to see how much it is to add the Audible Narration. Most of the ones I own have been £4.99 so match the price on Audible, but Dr Sleep is only £3.99 if purchased via Amazon.

11.22.63 is a great listen - and a lot more satisfying than the miniseries!
