I paid almost £20 a couple of years back for the Region 1 version of this and it was worth every penny so at this price a bargain!

Probably one of best King adaptations yet, Great cast, well written and with a descent budget make this a genuinely great TV movie!

I've done both ! Never been a SK fan but I read the book first and it remains to this day in my top 10 books. It is an amazing story. My recommendations would be to read the book and watch the dvd. Although they are similar, the book as you would expect is so much deeper and colourful.

Well worth a pop at this price.

Have still got this in videos from when i taped it back in the nineties!
Most true stephen king fans will tell the book is much better than the series, apparently there are more characters and twists in the book...
A good buy, well worth a watch if you haven't seen it!

This is by far the best Stephen King book out there... but from what I've seen of the mini-series, it's pretty terrible.

You've definitely got to get the book! I'm a big fan of Stephen King (though I prefer Dean Koontz) and the Stand is by far my favourite book by any author.

It's rare for any film to be better than the book it's based upon, of course.
This film/miniseries is pretty enjoyable, but not a patch on the book ;)

You can't go wrong at this price.

I'd debate that, apart from the final scene which is terribly handled and seems to have taken the ending of the book too literally and the fact that mother Abigail's wearing a little too much prosthesis, I'd say it's a pretty faithful adaptation of the book. Who knew Rob Lowe could act if given a role where he didn't have to speak? And Tom Cullen is da bomb, M-O-O-N and that spells da bomb.

I had an email from play today saying this had been dispatched (so although it is still OOS on the website, they obviously have some or can get it within a week or so)
