Agreed, some excellent lyrics, back in the day when you can understand what Kelly's singing!!! A Thousand Trees, second best Stereophonics song after Just Looking!!
#10
great stuff, thanks OP
#11
Agree with the above comments that this is EASILY their best!
#12
much better than the MOR rubbish they release nowadays!
#13
Agree..best album they've done.
The early ones of a band are usually the best.
Got it for this price a couple of years back.
Stereophonics have gone too singalong commercial now
#14
Quality album, shame the band has went to $h!t nowadays
#15
This is a very good album - at a good price!

Did anyone see Kelly Jones on Jools Holland at New Year? He was a bit good....!
#16
Don't miss this....and Performance and Cocktails too. Forget the rest

JEEP Was pretty decent as well, lost touch with them since then... You gotta give it to them though, they're one of the best live bands around... absolutely awesome
#19
Sadly it all went downhill from here after this magnificent debut.
#20
Superb album, great price - best album they ever did by far!! Voted hot

I fully agree
#22
This is silly hot. Great price, great album.
#23
I can't believe how amazing this first album is compared to the others.

The second album (Performance & Cocktails) was fairly good. The rest contained, on average, one good song and ten **** ones.
#24
Great album.

I already have it but voted hot.
#25
Brilliant album as has been said previously worth it just for Thousand Trees.
#26
brilliant album well worth 2.99

Judged on this album alone, Jones and Cable have to be up there with the best singer songwriter partnerships the UK has ever produced. The trouble is, every song on here is a classic and the other albums are all expected to consist of nothing but A sides. Well the fact that every other album to date has produced at least 1, usually 2 (sometimes more) classics even during and after (not so much after) their acrimonious split is a pretty good track record. On top of that, Kelly's guitar tone and licks, groove and vocals beat anything, and I mean anything that Oasis ever did without all the bullsh*t they need to generate to keep their ball rolling. There, I said it.

Heat and rep:-D

I have the original demo on tape as I used to hang around with Kelly Jones brother.

Agreed this was their best offering. Kelly changed his voice and image too much over the years.
#29
awesome album! good deal
#30
Must have album - HOT!
#31
:thumbsup:Excellent Album, Their music sucks these days, Too commercial, like Oasis I guess
#32
BEST ALBUM EVER MADE!

...well in my humble opinion. I've seen them live a countless amount of times, own all the singles, albums and DVD's they've ever released and this is the best part of the whole collection. If you don't own it BUY IT. Their last album was a real return to form.

Did I mention I like it?

Don't forget Richard Jones. The trio wrote the music, Kelly wrote the words.
#34
excellent album, one of the few i still own - perfect from start to finish, all killer no filler which is rare. id have bought it from play if i didnt just buy it from my local charity shop for the princely sum of £1 :)
#35
Yep, superb album. Easily Stereophonics' best, and in my top 5.

Well worth a punt for £3.

Apologies, I fully appreciate Richards musical contribution to Stereophonics, but he didn't/doesn't get any writing credits. I was refering to Jones/Cable as composers, not just musicians
