Maybe one for the younger generation of HUKDers who may not know about this film - one that must surely go down as the originator of modern slapstick movies; see Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey, Austin Powers etc.

Classic comedy, one of the few Steve Martin films I enjoy, worth the price of a pint!

I guess it is cheaper elsewhere but nobody wants to tell us??

#12
Clasic film - watched it tooooo many times !

Bought this years ago, must admit I thought it poor in all fairness - Man with Two Brains was better imho, still its probably better than anything he has done over the last decade or so, Steve Martin mainstream films have been pretty awful by and large.
#14
I think the Housesitter was the last good film he did. Forgot DMDWP, absolute genius.

What about Three Amigos. Infamous El Guapo is hilarious. Shame that Steve Martin then went all syrupy. Plays a mean banjo now but apparantly didn't fall over laughing when some japester shouted"sh1thead" to him at a London gig for cockney mountain men.

Stanley Kubrick (of all people) loved this movie.

"He hates these cans!"

Absolute classic.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a classic. Brilliant performance from Sir Michael Caine & Steve Martin. It’s a shame that the two never got together and did a couple of movies together like Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor (Stir Crazy, See No Evil, Hear No Evil - Both epically funny)

However, The Jerk is properly one of the best comedies of all time. In my opinion, Steve Martin's best performance. I don’t think you will ever find such a well portrayed character of someone who is so naive!

"For one dollar I'll guess your weight, your height, or your sex"

Have still got this on tape but will buy on DVD now. Heat added!
