Steven Frys new show which isnt long out on DVD and no doubt be on a few peoples Christmas list. Seems like the best price out there.

play.com £17.99

Add in quidco and that seems a deal to me.

Really enjoyed watching this on TV - Definately worth it at that price
Ideal gift for someone who liked the Michael Palins travels.

Picked this up in Tesco for £10 a couple of weeks ago, don't know if the offer is still on though. Worth a look if you're in anyway.

EDIT:Apologies, I picked up the book for £10, misread 1st post

loved this programme, been waiting for it to drop in price. thanks!!

loved the programme but its far too short he spends so little time in any real state he was like 5 mins in detroit then moved on....

I thought the Las Vegas section was absolutely abysmal; nothing about the city itself, but a whole ten tedious minutes spent at a "corporate-bonding spy game".

The shows ware a bit short for my tastes - he didn't really spend enough time in each state to get a real feeling for the differences between them. Good price though, especially so soon after launch date!

I'm a big fan of Stephen Fry but for some reason I just couldn't get in to this program. Something just wasn't right about it. Strange thing is that i absolutely love most travel documentaries. Voted hot for the price though.

I agree. Having lived in the USA for six years Pennsylvania and Delaware but have visited 17 states), I was really interested in this series. Having watched it, I can only conclude that the researchers did not fo their job properly. Having said that, it was still enjoyable.

Heat added. Ordered a copy.

Traveled through 9 states in the summer whilst living in Canada. Absolutely loved the program which brought back many happy memories.

I like Fry and enjoyed the programme but found it a bit irritating when ever he constantly interrupted the people he was interviewing. When you're talking to someone like a descendant of a slave you want to hear their first hand witness accounts of things without someone frequenlty butting in with what they've gleaned from reference books and trying to give the impression that they always no more.

Did anyone else find it odd to see him driving a manual car with a badly broken arm?
