Mine has just gone faulty after 1 month taking it back next week ( all 3 lights flash together on 1 unit and it will not connect to pc via Ethernet to set to factory settings)

May seem a silly question however if I buy two, can I effectively have on sender and three receivers or are they dedicated to either sending or recieving?
    Thanks

You can indeed have 1 sender and 3 receivers.

    They function as either.

Just checked my location and plenty of availability for R&C in 3 stores near my home.

There's plenty of stock out there.

Excuse my stupidity.. would these allow my Wifi range to go further? Or just plug in like Ethernet? thanks! :P
    squillion
    It's both.

They plug in like ethernet, no need for wires in the middle since they use your house main.

And if you attach a wireless router to the receiver, it'll go further.

Ok I have reserved a set to collect tomorrow. I then realised whilst in the loft earlier today I had got a Comtrend one (single unit) that came with a BT Vision box about 3/4 years ago maybe more and could have been one of a pair. My question is do they have to be make/model specific or can it be synced to these too?

    Thanks

Worth a try but I doubt it if different spec.

The best and only way to find out; is it to try and sync them. Don't buy these on the basis that you can pair them with your comtrend because your more than likely going to be disappointed.

How do you pair two routers on the one line? I didn't thing this was possible.

If you buy two sets you will have 4 senders and 4 receivers because each one does both.

PS - I've reserved a set to collect tomorrow, cracking price.

I have a pair of these already and find them fantastic. They work off extensions, even though the box indicates you can't. The helpline us great and we'll worth it if you can't figure it out.

1 question, if I bought another set (this deal) could they be used as singles and paired upto the master socket?

To use two routers you set your second router up as a repeater, in the enable dhcp and default gateway boxes you put the ip adress of your main router. Any client joining router 2 is pointed to router 2 to get its connection details in the same way as if it joined router 1. Hope that makes sense bit tired at the mo

Yes they can be used as singles. If you have not passwoed protected your originals then its plug and play again. If you have then you need to apply the same password.

Be aware that these will not run at 200Mbps. Probably more link 100Mb or less. I have seen 200MBps adapters, not this brand, drop 75MB ADSL connection to 35Mbps. Also 85Mbps adapters drop 20Mbps ADSL to 10Mbps.

Bargain. I've been using powerline adapters for over 5 years and they are a no brainer for most people who don't want to ethernet cable their house.
