Don't get this unless you don't love your children.
It's under £600.00 and will break if you breathe on it, or truckers will see it's not a posh named brand that cost hundreds and hundreds and will try and run you over.

no, not really I voted hot.

Same if you balance your kids on the top of a pole, in the style of David Blaine.

I've got a 20" model myself. Paid 99 quid for it so Heat added.

Maybe so, but don't even consider anything less than a £2000 Specialized carbon fibre pole endorsed by whoever the world pole balancing champion is or you'll be wasting your money.

Aren't hospital A&E departments busy enough on Christmas day? :santa:

Unicycles are great. I have a smaller one like this, and also a larger 6ft one. (Surprisingly the 6ft one is actually easier to ride than the smaller once, once you get over the fear of being so high up in the air!)

Yes they take a little while to learn, but once you have learnt you won't forget. They are great fun.

kewl

I'll take the toe-clips off my mountain bike and give this a try :p

Voted hot for a great price but who are Cybercheckout?
Never used them before

£25.99 @ eDirectory.co.uk for the 20'' model.

Which means it's still cheaper even with their one delivery option of £9.99 for next day delivery

http://www.edirectory.co.uk/pf/88888/mia/d/unicycle+20+with+alloy+wheel/pid/7970850

This may help someone get one faster & cheaper
#23
That is really quite cheap. Can't say anything about the quality though without have a good look. This is the cheapest I've seen a new 20" unicycle for though so maybe good for a pop if you want to try one. You will fall off. So play in a corridor.

Kids seem to be demons on them though and whizz around as if they were on fire. They seem to pick it up annoyingly quickly.

My husband is going to love one of these for Christmas. Keeps saying he wants a new bike :whistling:.

Can't get onto Quidco at the moment as my PC's playing up.- anyone know if either cybercheckout or edirectory do cashback? If so I'll try again tomorrow!

I have used Cybercheckout before. Bought a folding table football set 2 years ago. Identical quality to other ones double the price, so I am impressed with their prices.
#28
I have a 16 inch one.

At some stage in the future I also intend to get a unicycle.

Joking aside - I got the 16 inch one as it was small enought to fit (dismantled - but with the tyre inflated) in a 50 litre rucsack - and I took it on holiday as a surprise about two years ago.

No one managed to stay on for more than 6 seconds in the two weeks we were away.

If you are buying one - its worth checking you are not over the weight specified for them - as all your weight is on that one set of spokes.

I think he meant that all in one phrase - a "student juggler idiot" and possibly meant to say "student juggling idiot "

Well, Im hoping that's the case unless he doen't want to make friends :?

eDirectory give 4% cashback via quidco.
It looks like it's exactly the same model.

They do have some better quality Chrome ones from £55, but I dont expect to use it very often.
Just when everyone's had a good drink at next year's BBQ's
"watch out for the fish pond dear" :-D :shock::shock:

I got one of these when i was young and my dad told me that someone stole the rest of the bike and i would need to make do. Worst is i believed him!
#32
I'm totally torn on whether to get one of these or not. A total waste of £30-odd quid, but to see his face on Christmas morning...priceless.

But how the hell do you learn to ride one?

Does it come with stabilisers, and don't you look a bit of a tool unless you are wearing a sparklie waistcoat?

Bought one of these (for myself) and it arrived today. Beware Cyber Checkout's "[email protected]" delivery method. If the guy hadn't been kind enough to come back this evening to deliver it, it would have meant a lengthy drive from Derby to their nearest depot in Leicester!

Anyway, at first sight I was sceptical to say the least. The tools included to put it together are little better than Christmas crackers tools and the method for attaching the fork to the wheel seems decidedly dodgy and prone to coming loose. Think I'll take a set of (good) tools with me when I go to ride it. That said, the instructions are in nice, clear English and even the "how to ride" leaflet was remarkably grammatically correct! Once built and the tyre pumped up, I have to say I'm pretty impressed all things considered. It certainly looks the part! For £40 you can't complain, even if it does break after a few months. I've always wanted a Unicycle but have continually been turned off by the price for something I may not even be able to ride, so if this allows me to experiment so much the better!

H+R!
