I'm not a big fan of remastering, why mess with a classic in all it's glorious imperfection? This is a classic and gloriously perfect to start with. Remastering? No thanks.

What makes this reissue interesting is the second disk and the DVD but they are essentially curiosities that don't bear comparison to the original sublime studio recording. Must I have it? The best part of £25? No, it's a rip-off. It's not a deal, it's a cynical cashing-in. The record company have already made their money on this great album, ten quid would be a fair price, twenty-five isn't..

Cold, despite the greatness.

While I agree you cant really improve perfection (or imperfections as it is )
Its the rareness of the demo tracks and the live footage which decide on its worth - everybody who buys this will already have the unmastered original - but thats not to say they wouldnt like to hear a cleaned up version, even if they love listening to the original

This is an anniversary edition of The Stone Roses' first album which was called 'The Stone Roses'. Fool's Gold wasn't on the album and that's why it isn't on this one.

It seems like the marketing exercise involved with this release has caused some confusion with the description. I have no inside information on this one way or the other, but if you look at this link there is an explanation for the confusion:
A Legacy Edition of the album, featuring the re-mastered album, The Lost Demos and the Blackpool Live DVD will also be made available on 10th August, plus there will be a further reduced 1CD Special Edition, which will contain the re-mastered album plus the full 9:53 version of ‘Fools Gold’ bonus track, presented in a new gatefold digipack.
