im sure this is a repost
#3
surely everyone owns this album..?

A truly awesome album, terrible sound quality, I think they must have recorded it in a shed or something, but certainly one of the greatest albums of all time.

Voted hot, although as jough said, surely everybody already has it.

I have it, but was tempted to buy it again! Just because it is so good? Anybody old enough or lucky enough to have been at Spike Island? One of the best days of my life!

THE best album ever created.
Shame about The Second Coming (event though I still rate it as a very good album)
Browny's made up for the break up with his solo work though.

It was all over by Spike Island.
Has Ian made a decent solo record?

He's made lots of superb records since the split, not in the roses league but they never could be. He is also fantastic live if you get chance.

Might be a repost... Most people might own it already... Maybe not THE best album ever, but certainly up there with em...

Well worth reposting though as if you don't have it, you ruddy well should. Buy one for yer mam so she can see what she's calling "noise" and eat her words.

Bought the Ltd Edit double a while back to keep my vinyl copy protected... Then I got this to keep my Ltd Edit safe... When will it end?!?

Yep awful sound quality and i'II doubt its anything to do with the production John Leckie is an amazing producer, more likely like just about any CD released before 1996 they are just plainly cack mastering unlike today. This is why so many 80`s & 90`s artists now are having remastered albums of their back catalogue done.

I had my first CD player in 1989 and really it was a bad move, should have stuck with vinyl, most of my CD's that I bought sound quality was terrible although not having hi-fi seperates at that time and nothing to compare it with a lot of people were dragged into the hype that CD's were better sound quality with obviously no crackle.

All of my Killing Joke, The Cure, Cocteau Twins and Depeche Mode CD's sound much much better with remastered releases.

We were never told they were sonically flat back then, and should have just stuck with vinyl when they were originally released. I bet anyone who has the vinyl of The Stone Roses album can vouch that it sounds much, much better....why it hasnt been remastered yet I really do not know for such a legendary album.
