Hi
Thanks for posting. I have added an image to your post; I've also edited the title to "Raw Power" (Search and Destroy is the opening track rather thna the title of the album).
This is a link, made by rayman, which explains how to add images in great detail. It’s worth taking a look at if you are going to post more deals in future : - http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/339941/how-to-post-and-host-images-for-thr/
Or follow the link in my signature.
Kind regards

PS Hot. The Stooges are awesome and a very good price

I got a version of this CD that had been remixed by Iggy himself, which was terrible after living with the Bowie version for so many years on vinyl. The Bowie mix is far superior. IMHO

I'd def agree with this post. It is a great album but I bought the Iggy CD version when it came out in 1997 and only listened to it twice...it sounds horrendous. The original Bowie version had it's critics but it's much easier on the ears :whistling: It's harder to get the 1990 original CD nowadays tho.

Excellent and influential album, shows Iggy was doing punk years before anybody else. The guitar licks and riffs by James Williamson are awesome, I really rate him. This is the only Stooges album he plays on. He didn't do much after this album apart from collaborating with Iggy on the Kill City album, which is also excellent. New Values is another good Iggy album that's not heard of much.

I'm guessing this is the Iggy mix, which is where he turned all the dials up to 11. I have heard the Bowie mix as well and I like both.

Great price, heat and rep. Good to see some fellow Iggy fans on HUKD!

I'm guessing this is the Iggy mix, if it's a recent issue. The problem with the Bowie mix is that it was always mistreated by the label - crappy mastering job onto crappy vinyl, and then crappy CD mastering on the first release.

I actually prefer the Iggy mix to the Bowie mix as it sounded on the crappy re-issued vinyl I picked up as a teenager in the 80s. Iggy's mix is raw and powerful, as the title suggests it should be. The vinyl of Bowie's mix is pretty limp - but I think it's more about the mastering than Bowie's mix itself. I definitely think the Bowie mix warrants a re-issue as well.

Anyway, class CLASSIC album.

Funnily enough haven't played much Iggy for a while, but have been listening to his 'a million in prizes' anthology over the weekend - brought all the old memories flooding back.

First saw him on the Idiot tour in '77 in Brum, when Bowie played keyboards in his band. Was right against the orchestra pit a few feet from the stage. Later that year met Iggy on the Lust for Life tour, when he invited a group of us into his hotel (Brum again), and then bumped into him at Dingwalls (with Bowie) after one of Bowie's Earls Court 'Stage' shows in 78. From what I recall, he was pretty stoned on both occasions.

Good times

This seems to be a strange forum for discussing album mixes but for what it's worth here's my opinion. There are 3 mixes and I have owned them all. The original 70s vinyl had a very muddy dull sounding mix, I bought this in 74 and thought it was a terrible album ( I was young and I was wrong) and got rid. In the early 80s I bought the reissue and found it was sooo.. different, thin weedy and gutless. I thought the idea of the 90s remix was a dreadful idea but having heard it many times I've got to say I love it. I know it's not authentic and I think it has been 'doctored' but christ it rocks. Having said that I would love to have CDs of the other versions too.

Sadly the deal has expired too - £3.99 now, definitely still a bargain. 1p cheaper on Amazon fwiw - I bought a copy there a week or two back and its definitely the Iggy mix and has a booklet with a very good interview with the man.

I was lucky enough to catch the Stooges playing Fun House (and most of the Stooges but I don't think any of Raw Power) at Hammersmith - unforgettable and now Ron has gone unrepeatable.

Cool, I was at that gig too. Such a shame about Ron.... I heard that Iggy was thinking about reforming the Raw Power era band now that Ron has gone, getting James Williamson back and keeping Rock Action on drums and Mike Watt on bass. Seems a little callous but Iggy is a businessman these days.
