Never wanted tarry lungs, phlegmy cough, fart breath, yellow fingers and grey skin.

This could be a really contentious discussion of "Which is worse, a smoker or a drinker".
That's easy - drinkers.

For the same reason that some people like to take drugs, eat cheese, go abseiling, watch TOWIE etc etc because they have tried it, they like it and want to do it again.

Check the stats - how many people have been killed by drunk drivers vs smoker drivers...

Here's a cheaper way to stop smoking: Don't buy any cigarettes. You're welcome!

Smoking actually increases reaction speed and perception, hence why a lot of athletes smoke. However, it is also one of the most vile things a human can be addicted to, because it not only damages the individual, but also those in their immediate vicinity. I actually consider it an assault on my life if people smoke near me, they are genuinely shortening my lifespan with their drug addiction. Their nAch receptors have been desensitized over time, hence they need the drug to keep functioning normally, withdrawal leads to jitters, lack of concentration and poor self control, the clear signs of junkie itching for their next fix.

someone posts up a deal to help people stop smoking, if you find smoking so disgusting perhaps post some positive comments that might encourage people to stop smoking rather than basically calling them scum.

You can also get free help to stop smoking from chemists

Smokers
Drinkers are by far the greatest scourge on society.

The ultra minority possibly....The majority are able to have 1, 2, 3 or more drinks and choose not to drive, attack someone or anything else for that matter.
If you want **** breath, tarry lungs, yellow teeth, then I suppose that is up to you. The quicker smoking is banned from public places the better, the litter problem alone is dreadful.

agreed. smoking makes you look like a prat but drinking actually makes you one. still smoking is a very bad habit and if people make a choice to quit for positive reasons for themselves and this around them, good on them. those who don't, carry on. voted hot

Don't believe the fake news about how bad smoking is for your health. Spark up and enjoy.
I like a cigar 2/3 a day. About moderation.

Fake news? I work in medicine and know that if anything the negative effects of smoking are heavily understated.

I tend to see more beer cans and bottles strewn all over the place than cigarette ends.
Cigarette ends tend to get washed away, and you can't smash them on pavements.

Smokers are now isolated away, and are not allowed to smoke indoors anywhere. If you get affected from smoke it would be your choice to be in that vacinity - whereas a drinker invades your space, stinks, is normally aggressive when drinking, kills people when driving, attacks others for no reason, vomits and urinates in public spaces, smashes bottles which cut children and pets, likes to draw attention to themselves in public, and oh yes also gets addicted to alcohol.
I would rather catch a breath of smoke than be anywhere near a drinker.

Both are bad, I would expect that the average reduction in life span caused by drinkers and second hand smoke is about equal. However drinkers contribute to the death of few, whilst smokers contribute to the death of most.

How can a smoker contribute to another person's death. Nobody forces you to inhale smoke, you have a choice to be in the vacinity of a smoker or not, which is more than a victim of a drunk driver has! Or the person who gets attacked by drunks in a town centre. Or the wife that gets battered by a drunk husband. Or the child that get abused by a drinking father. The list is endless with drinkers.

Because smokers are absolutely everywhere, to avoid smokers would be futile. Am I really expected to keep changing directions just to avoid smokers? Getting home from the shop would be like walking a maze. Smoking causes cancer, not just in the smoker, but often in those surrounding them. Cancer is one of the most insidious diseases there is, a painful, heartbreaking death that strips people of their dignity. Now I am not saying drunken abuse isn't bad, I am saying that smoking causes more grand a problem than drinking, generally. I suspect you're a smoker, trying to justify your addiction, or compare it to a worse evil, in reality both are bad, smoking is just worse.

If you walking past a smoker on the way home, the occasional whiff of smoke will cause you no harm, you will probably get more harm from the exhaust fumes from vehicles.
A smoker won't follow you down the road, abuse you and attack you for no reason wha so ever.
And in most cases a smoker knows they are harming themselves, and would like to quit. A drinker will mostly not know, or will not want to know of the harm they cause themselves, and in most cases don't want to quit drinking regardless.
And for your info I don't smoke.

I've been smoking for 25 good years and I'm not addicted. Fake news.
