what's humble bundle
This game hammers my OCD. I remember restarting a section because I lost a mudokon.
Midlanders
I still have the original black PS1 DEMO disk :D It was a pretty creepy demo to include with a console that came with Crash Bandicoot for a kid less than 10 YO, lol. They had the remake New 'n' Tasty available for PS4/VITA owners through PS+ not too long ago, it was great! The dynamic theme i still use too, worth playing any game with b-ABE!
Have these not been in a HumbleBundle before?

Ya I got new & tasty from HumbleBundle, was with the monthly subscription thing.

Thank you! Just bought both of them!

So, now that you own these 2 classics, did you get a chance to start them, or are you like me, who has a list of nearly 300 steam games and has played about 3...?
TheVoice
The first one is one of my favourite games ever, it's superb.

I tend to pretend it never had any sequels though, DS3 was particularly bad but DS2 still didn't have the same atmosphere as the first and suddenly making Isaac a talking protagonist (and a poor one at that) spoiled it for me.

Actually, yes, I must agree with you on that point, totally slipped my mind! It did take something away from being somehow "connected" with the character as such, as you could more or less simply lose yourself in the role of Isaac, but not so much as to ruin the game thankfully. So, yes, if they'd have stuck with the original train of thought for the character, then the sequel would have been on a whole other level, (the original having a wonderfully dark, sci-fi Gothic look and feel imbued with real tension and claustrophobia), but I felt it was a worthy sequel still.

These are probably two of my favourite games ever, so have some heat. It will be good to replay on 4k.
If only it were somehow possible to play these alone in the centre of an Odeon 4K main screen cinema... That would be amazing... Hey, I'm allowed to dream!
That dream will change when you start meeting girls. :)
Nice thought tho.

Lol! Unfortunately being a Leonard to several Pennies throughout my not so short existence has taught me that sometimes you have to do what you can to cling to your geeky dreams without shame, as sometimes those sweet and adorable Pennies turn out to be far more disturbing than anything you'll encounter in either of these games! Well, in my experience anyway. Though, it's more of a Bernadette thing now... and she agrees with all of the above!
Great great games.
Thank you! Just bought both of them!

I bought the game when it first came out. It was honestly dire back then and shouldn't have been released, but 2 years on, it's fantastic. I'm enjoying this more than DayZ now.

Don't let the EA banner put you off. The game is really well optimised and the environment is stunning. The Dev's are constantly adding content all the time and expanding the map.

Edited By: Lucage on Sep 12, 2016 08:49
The Early Access banner is enough to put me off, but also seeing it has been almost 2 years since initial release and still in EA is not a good sign.

I liked the concept of EA - allowing developers and their community to interact before a game is completed and released - but that sadly isn't what Steam EA has become. Instead the EA banner gets used to defend content released far too early by teams or individuals with little idea how to complete and release their vision of the game.

Now with less time for gaming to gamble on the promises of EA, instead I will let it be the filter, and from the 100 games that promise to be the next best thing in the post-apocalyptic, zombie-fighting, hardcore, survival MMO genre, maybe one or two will actually make it through to a proper release.

When I see one that looks interesting I add it to my wishlist, but more often than not when I review those lists from time to time there is little progress on the games, or the devs have gone bust, or the community soured against them.

I've never played ARK, but I think the negative reviews are largely down to people's dislike of their recent paid DLC release (given that the game is still early access).

That is indeed the case. Ark is as good if not better than most so-called triple A releases by major game houses. You can safely ignore any nagging doubts you might have about the 'early access' badge on Ark. It is a truly wonderful survival game.

Looks promising. The construction element looks well thought out and good fun - even more so when building as part of a team. However, as the server admin of a PC gaming community, the inability to run dedicated servers for this game is a real showstopper. I would recommend investigating 7 Days to Die, Empyrion and (saving the best till last) Ark:Survival Evolved before spending your cash on this one.

Heat for the bargain price.

ARK has mostly negative reviews.
7 days to Die doesn't look too bad though.

I haven't voted either way but it's hardly a mystery why paying over £10 for a game with mixed reviews doesn't seem like a good deal to people on a site where better rated games frequently pop up for pennies.
It's Blood Bowl. The only relevant better rated games would be the earlier Chaos Edition and the other fantasy football games.
Chaos edition is currently £4.99 though and is a better game bar the graphics. It has nearly three times as many teams to play with for less than half the price.

You should only be able to vote cold if you post a comment at the same time, with a valid reason for voting that way or a cheaper deal.

Because that's a totally practical system for the site and definitely not an overreaction to a few cold votes.

Have a look at the HUKD history for deals on this game. By and large they don't so well, possibly because the Steam reviews for it are mixed, possibly because (by many accounts) the first game does the same thing better at half the price.

Got to love this site.

Luckily other sites out there that can help you monitor the games you're after and they alert you when the price has dropped.

I wouldn't bother, save you bandwith & coin!
I played it for a few hours wish I never!!!
Macdory
I played it for around 2 hours this morning - it was reasonably entertaining up until I cleared the first zone, then it puts you in a new place which was pitch black and all of the mobs were on high alert. It was so dark I stumbled into them before I saw them and a firefight ensued where more and more mobs spawn (never ending from what I could tell) until you run and hide ... but remember, it is pitch black so this is very random!

You can't use your torch as this also alerts the mobs you are there.

So, after 2 hours of having some good fun with the game, I tried the new zone for around 30 mins and just got frustrated with the constant sneaking and blind running ... uninstalled!

Nice to get to try it for a couple of hours for free though, and the game ran very smoothly on a GTX970/i5 set up.

same here uninstalled when I got to that bit I was thinking about buying it seems to be to much hiding you can't walk for 2 minutes without getting into a fight did run pretty good on my pc i7 4770k and r9 290

This game is amazing. I'd go as far to say its my favourite anti grav racer ever, and I've played most of them, the speed, the controls, the graphics and the skill ceiling make this a great package. BL1 is a crap game.
Are you actually out of your freaking mind? :D

Am I out of my mind? Hmm we all don't have to think about that one long do we :)

The problem with BL1 was fixed in BL2 somewhat, BL1 was a beta or even alpha version of BL2. In BL2 they polished the product, added character (i.e. Tina) and just improved the game mechanics and features enough to make it a decent game. I could co-op BL2 and play all the DLC again, I can happily leave BL1 forever which I have done.
Urgh... I guess I'll HAVE to buy it now, but only because I love BL2 so much (Not so fun without my old Pandora buddies).
I played BL2 first... I'm having my first play through on BL1 at the moment... I have to say, BL2 spoiled me :-/

This game is awesome, and most certainly not dead! For this price, you can't go wrong if you like your FPS games (although they did give some content away FoC a while back). For those who buy it, don't go into it thinking it's all run-and-gun like CoD, it's a bit more tactical/team-based than that and you're not a bullet sponge in this game - one hit often kills. If you can get on a public server where good teamwork is being used, you'll have one hell of a time, whether your team wins or loses.

Most of the complaints I see, are about how the game has changed.

I think the complaint being referred to is that year on year you notice the same assets being recycled with a minute amount of spruce happening. Eg in COD 4 there is a building that gets used twice in the single player mode, once it's in a multiplayer map, MW2 has the same building in a different texture once in the single player and as an asset outside of a multiplayer map but visible from the edge of the arena. Then similar in MW3.

Then we talk about the recycling of the game engine with very little in terms of improvement year on year. However, the change for change sake is an issue people do have with the games (jetpacks and so on).

As to the deal.... I'm of the opinion it's more of a 'what deal' situation, I picked up the following on deals here recently that activated with Steam, COD Ghosts £2.99, MW3 £2.99, MW2 £2.84. The first Modern warfare while a great game, is not worth £10, there are hardly any people playing these games on multiplayer so £10 for what is a rather short single player experience isn't exactly that good of a deal considering people who buy these games do so primarily for the MP aspect.

They`re having a laugh trying to sell BO2 at £40 still.

CDkeys has it for just under £6. Bought it for myself and my son yesterday.
Those prices make no sense,

Buy COD 1 on its own for 9.99 (rip off) or COD1 warchest for 9.99 (COD, UO and COD 2 (£24.97 If bought individually) .

Or if you want to get the bundle with WaW, the WW2 bundle (24.11) its cheaper to get COD:warchest (9.99) and WaW (9.99) separately as you save £4.13.

Anyway no supplyscam drop discounts, cold oO

Edit; and most bundles have 50% to 67% off the games in them, but 33% to 50% off the bundle price?
