This is a couple of quid cheaper than I've seen elsewhere, seems a decent price. Available in 3 styles of artwork (Ryu, Ken or Chun Li). Ideal if you're going to get Street Fighter IV.

***EDIT***

As pointed out below, the Xbox 360 version is a wired controller. Only the PS3 version is wireless.

Kind of a shame we miss out on the Blanka and Akuma pads being released in Japan and US. They look cool.

Wrong!.

360 pads are not wireless. PS3 pads are wireless with a dongle
#9
I see, my appologies, thought they both were. Better get the PS3 one then eh :p

I had a 360 one on pre-order with amazon and they cancelled it last week.

Amazon
We are sorry to inform you that we have been unable to obtain the
following item:

"Mad Catz Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV Pad (Xbox 360)" [Video Game]

This item has now been cancelled from your order and we can confirm that
you have not been charged for it.

That's because they had a generic pad listed up with 2 pics showing, 1 showing akuma and 1 showing ken (here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mad-Catz-Xbox-Street-Fighter/dp/B001LK7FHO/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1232655122&sr=8-7). They cancelled all preorders on that item and relisted each individual style of pad seperately, so you'll have to order again.
#12
wow coolio! Problem; if you go round to someone's house who has streetfighter and not the pad; you won't be able to bring your usual skills (because not being used to the regular controller!)
I do envisage massive sf4 after-pub tournys in my not so far away future :D

Might be worth editing your deal post so other people know that the 360 version comes wired only :)

You can pick up an Arcade stick for less, so for me, this isn't really worth it. Also, the PS3 pad is actually already a pretty good pad for fighting games, so i don't entirely see the point.

Cold for me.

Just p/o the 360 ken one, would have prefered Ryu (pic is **** though) Akuma or Blanka but hey it has Turbo so i brought it. Nice one op.
#19
Cant wait for this game to come out !
#20
Hello Marc, guess who =)

Anyway I wouldnt mind getting this pad but it is really annoying that its only wired for the 360 =/
#21
Why are there the RB and RT buttons when there's still a shoulder button on the right?
Surely it would have made more sense to have had RT and LT moved to buttons and kept the 2 shoulder buttons as the RB and LB.

Are these pads going to be nice and flat like SNES ones were or is it still going to be a bit chunky?

thanks.
#22
Need to think of some other titles I might play to justify this, esp. as it's exactly the same price as my preorder for the game.

Gutted that the excellent Akuma design didn't make it here :-(

Probably becasue the default controls in the game will use those two buttons for the high punch / kick....

Am tempted to get the game now this pad is available. Used to love the 2d fighters on the Saturn, and this pad is very similar. SF Alpha 2 is the daddy though....

This does freakishly look like a saturn pad. Still for me this price is a beat steep for what it is, but I will leave my vote out of it.

Wired controllers? well i suppose this is a retro game of sorts.
#27
hmm does anyone know if this will work for SF2 HD?
Or has anyone got a recommendation? 360 btw.
#28
Ken pad ftw

This should work for SSFIIHDR

I got the stick pre-ordered

SFA2 is certainly the daddy, I love the Dhalsim stage music but I have a tiny scratch which makes it skip

Might spend the weekend on the Saturn, wonder if I can find 9 more people to play Bomberman with (can't believe I bought so many official pads!) :)

Where can you get a decent arcade stick for £25? I think the PS3 pad is ok but the dpad on the 360 one is poo. Also I like this because I used to play SFII on the megadrive with the same button layout. Just like old times!

Hey Az. Yeah it does suck that it's wired for the 360. I'll prob get it on the PS3.

Come on though they should really make one with a hologram of rufus jiggling >_<

Looking at it now, it does look a lot like Mega drive pad - take the D-Pad and buttons layout :whistling: Totally agree with you the price is way too much for a third party controller. If only the 360 did a "classic" controller like they have on Wii. That would be THE best solution for fighting games..
#33
I dont trust Mad Catz enough to pay £25 for this, every pad i have tried (Except the original Super nintendo one) has been a pain the rear when playing any SF games, the xbox ones are awful for dragon punches etc.
I have the EX2 Fighting stick made by Hori and its perfect.... im not voting cold though , as if you want one then its a good deal.
#34
I've gone with ShopTo for £27.99 (plus Quidco) as Amazon will not take a pre-order just a 'notify when available'....I'd rather pay the extra £2 to get it soonest.

:)
#35
I cancelled mine with Amazon and went with ShopTo as i wanted the Ryu as i have now seen it as the actual model and it looks better but you dont seen to get to chosse. Hope i dont get Chun-Li!!!

Blanka is the best one but us UK'ers don't get a look in :(

For people getting the PS3 version, the PS3 accepts standard PC USB controllers including this Sega Saturn one that Sega released for the PC a few years back.

This is IDENTICAL to the Saturn pad if you like the Saturn pad. Slightly cheaper than the Madcatz & imho the Saturn pad is the best pad for beat-em-ups you can get.
I bought 2 of these to use with SFHD remix a while back & they're brilliant. Can be bought on ebay for about £18.
