Aqua Optima Water Filter Jug. Drinking filtered tap water is more economical than bottled water and has far less impact on the environment, as most water bottles are non-biodegrable. The Aqua Optima filter jug with its classic slim design will fit perfectly into the fridge door, providing cleaner, purer water for a fraction of the cost of bottled water. This fridge jug uses Aqua Optima's unique 5-step filter cartridge reducing herbicides, pesticides and chlorine by up to 80%, giving you better tasting hot and cold drinks. It also features a cartridge replacement indicator and easy fill lid.

Half-decent price if you're not near a Home Bargains who have the same thing for £3.99 which is a Billy bargain!

Hot from me, prefer the Aqua Optima to the Britta.

Maybe an even better deal:
The same but with 6 double life filters, i.e. a pack that lasts you 12 months - for £14.35

obviously it is out of stock, they wouldn't wait 5 weeks to ship something they had in stock

Sorry for being a numpty, but what's the difference between Maxtra and Aqua Optima?
#12
Its out of stock because it was posted on MSE just before Xmas when there was also a 20% discount, bringing it down to £11.48, but that code expired on 26th Dec.

Argos have it for £4.99 plus £12.47 for 6 cartridges (12 months worth)

Dunmill Mill had a similar offer of buy the double cartridge for £4.99 and receive the jug free. so received three cartridges in total and jug for £4.99.

I've got this jug and after filtering out about 10-15 times (after inserting cartridge)...water tastes great!

Two different companies: Maxtra is from Brita (never know if with one or two 't's), Aqua Optima is a competitive system. I have used the Maxtra for years and when there was a similar good offer on Amazon tried the Aqua Optima and kind of prefer the taste of the water (completely subjective of course!). But in general they are similar, but the Maxtra is usually more expensive.
