This was posted a while ago but id completly forgotten about it!

Note: This voucher entitles the bearer to one free student ticket to any film when a student ticket is purchased.

Unless you have old/fake student ID you both need to be students to take advantage of this.

In my experience, as long as the person purchasing the tickets has student ID you'll be fine.

So does "your" rather than "you're". ;-) Yes, price should be 2.75 per person...

They have 2 cinemas, Cineworld has 76, so not great for the majority of users.

Doesn't matter which one you go to... the queues are so long these days you miss the beginning of the film.

Most people don't realise you can buy your tickets with your pop corn and avoid the queues at the ticket counter. Sucks to line up twice.

this is great for the young student but what about us OU students who have kids can we make use of this?
#21
Not sure the queue for the one guy serving at my cineworld can honestly take any further attendees (that is on the food counter, the only one open).

If your kids go to a college where they have student cards (so not necessarily university) then they get student prices, and you can take them.
#24
Any idea if they will let 6th formers in, have no id cards.
#25
what about international student id?valid? hot anyway

I'm just saying that in the 3 different Cineworld's i've been to (Shrewsbury, High Wycombe and Wolverhampton) as long as the person purchasing the tickets using this method has student ID, they haven't asked for the second person's.

Haha. Of all the times for me to get that wrong...

Great find... any suggestions for good movies to see at the moment??
#29
OU students can do this too, I'm studying with the OU and you can apply for an NUS card through them... Here is the link for you:

http://www.open.ac.uk/ousa/nus-extra.php

I got mine a few months ago, it's great! I think it was £11 and I have already saved a lot more than that. You will probably need to show that when you get your tickets. They also do an OUSA card for free but most places won't accept that. Hope that helps!

Same as my experience. I've never been asked for a second student card, neither when purchasing tickets, nor by the people checking them on the way in. I just ask for one student and one free ticket and give them the voucher.

awesome deal
#32
I work for Cineworld, we always require both people to show their student ID before we issue tickets.
#33
voted cold because this offer has been available the whole time i've been a student, been using it for three years nearly now, nothing new, old news
#34
yes both are required to have student cards. This offer is valid, Monday to thursday. Manager has the right to refuse. and new releases may not be including. There is also an extra 3D cost for 3D Films. ( may aswell watch 2D anyway) ... and Popcorn and Drinks are quite pricey ;) bring your own in a little bag. just don't bring in a pizza box or what not
#35
international student i.d is accepted too.
#36
The offer does not say anything about being a "student". The T&Cs say "This voucher entitles the bearer to one free student ticket to any film when a student ticket is purchased to the same performance, subject to film and seat availability at participating Cineworld cinemas only and is non-transferable. Lowest priced ticket will be issued free."

If you check the Cineworld website it explains who can use student tickets. Up to what age can I buy a child ticket?

Students 15 to 17 years old Proof of age may be asked
Students 18+ NUS Card Or Local College ID

I think that means if you are aged 15 to 17 (and can prove it) then you are entitled to use this offer.

Spot on. I generally buy my ticket at the food/ice cream counter, whichever queue is shorter, despite the fact I don't buy food there. I have seen some Cineworld cinemas encourage this in the past as it spreads the queue, no notices up in my local though, so not many people seem to realise. Far quicker.

Voted hot, this is a great price, though I'm a non-student and have a Cineworld Unlimited card, which I find a great way to see all sorts of films I wouldn't otherwise bother with. Amazing how often I've been surprised.

What the hell are students doing going to the cinema anyway? Shouldn't they be at the pub?
