Students in need are doing their card for "free" at the moment with just a £1.95 postage and packaging charge (card is normally £5 + p&p I believe).

Gets some decent discounts most notably 5% off at Play.com (excludes PC and electricals) and 20% off at Borders.co.uk. Card will pay for itself very easily!

Got mine today, took just a few days to come. Get it while you can.

I beleive they now have another deal added to their card, 20% off AllPosters.co.uk

Valid until 30th Sept 2009

Is that for all of them? If so; better off to wait a bit until next cycle.

I think so but that's still a good few months. Basically if you want to order one book from Borders the card has paid for itself and I'm sure there are a lot of people that use play.com regularly.

But can you not use that RAC 5% off multiple times? Fair enoguh if you're using borders but it doesn't seem to have much extra that a regular student discount wouldn't have. I'll vote hot for borders though, 20% is decent.

Not everyone is an RAC member though, especially not students!

You don`t need to be a member to use the discount code.

Isn't this the same as a V-card, seems to be the same discounts

Ah, I'm guessing you should be. I'm sure they'll clamp down on it sooner or later. There looks to be a good car insurance discount too, also oasis, french connection, avon etc. For £1.95 I don't think you can go too far wrong.

Gotta be worth it for the borders discount - text books can easily be £40 quid so 20% is well worth having - borders are good to use - used the 50% discount code at xmas (now that was a cool code !)!!

Paying for a discount card just seems mad. Even if it is for delivery.

We all carry bloody student cards - short of advertising, what do they want?!
#16
well i ordered one. hopefully 10% cashback at borders will still work on top of the 20% off, serious saving.

The 5% @ Play is listed under "offer of the month". So will that only work for March?

once you subscribe and go to offer details it says lasts until September and you can use as many times as you like.

I agree but Play.com don't offer discounts to holders of student cards. Not even with NUS cards!

I don't know if they still issue them, but to anyone that has one, the UCAS card gives you 5% off at play.com including electricals, and it doesn't seem to expire.

20% off borders sounds fine, but they are sooooo expensive to start with that is not a great deal. Also even when they do have a good buy they dont let you use the voucher with it, if the item was reduced.
