Well, if you look at the table on the Pugh website it seems you'll have to do a custom (clean) install in the majority of upgrades anyway. The only exception seems to be if you're upgrading from Windows Vista Business.

I would be able to do that myself I'm sure but I thought you could only upgrade using this offer? I know there are some work arounds available but not sure how reliable they are.

I think I'd prefer to upgrade - i have lots of music/pics/games on my PC with no way of backing them up. I'm sure it's negligible the speed of the PC between upgrade and clean install.

You could always partition your disk and move your files onto one partition and do a clean install on the other. Ask a techie mate to help you if you're not sure how.

Theres currently some "issues" with software4students have a look at this:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1023219

a few episodes of non-delivery etc etc

Had a read through there does seem to have been a problem in noveber and december possibly due to moving warehouse or something. Also there were various postal strikes at that stage. Seems to be once people had the products they were happy with them. Has anyone used them recently to clarify if the delivery problem has sorted itself out.
