It's a minimum 12 month contract. So yeah if they wanted too they could take action if you refused to honour it. Whether they will or not is another matter, but it's up to you to take that risk, so the op isn't accurate.
Didn't go for it, but good offer. :-)
Technically it says minimum is 12 months, but they are very unlikly (and typically don't) pursue this because it's too small to start taking any action, so lots of people cancel before.

As for credit records. It's not a credit contract, you pay up front, so does not appear on your credit record. I'm not aware of any searches being done. You pay up front so there is no credit.
Just signed up and got this on my email

Isn't a bit ironic that this has gone cold (-21)?
Personally I think it's a pretty good deal, I'm voting hot.

hi guys. i just got the flyer for the goggles offer in with my new ells brigham catalogue (spending here we come!).

just wondering if you knew which Scott goggles they were exactly. i'm looking at buying some new ones and wondering whether to kill two birds with one stone.

any info would be good, cheers, sam

Would ring and ask if I were you, as an existing subscriber I was told I could not have the offer but could buy them fro £25 so I presume they are the £45 bracket goggles, do a google search and you will find them. Decent goggles if you ask me, had a few pairs in the past and always served me well

This offer is only available for UK subscriptions when paying by direct debit. All orders will be acknowledged and you will be advised of commencement issue within 14 days. This offer closes 30 August 2008. Minimum subscription term is 12 months. The full UK subscription rate for 50 issues is £67.50.

this is clearly stated on the site.by paying you'll be agreeing so they'll just bill you the difference even if dd cancelled.
voted hot
Cheers !!!
Under the terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee you are entitled to terminate your Direct Debit at any time.

That will be immediately after the 99p is taken then........

Voted Hot........
surely you can just cancel the DDI once it's set up?

Then they can't take any money - nowhere to click that you accept any terms and conditions? :whistling:

hence cancelling the subscription....did the read the OP at all?

Yeah, but you need a minimum 12 months subscription, so as it is a weekly magazine, that's 52 issues. 12 issues for 99p then the remaining 40 issues will cost you £40.50, no?

Would be a hot deal if you could cancel after 12 issues, but you need to sign up for 1 year.
