The Parks
With a choice of four beachside resorts, Pontins offers breaks with adventure, parties and competitions in equal abundance. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy a fun-packed family break with entertainment and activities including live comedy, vocalists, bands and tribute acts as well as the iconic Bluecoats, keeping travellers amused with game shows, cash bingo, party dances and discos. Holidaymakers may take a dip in the indoor heated swimming pool and have fun while checking out the Water Walkerz and the slides. Little adventurers will be kept on their toes with activities ranging from trampolining to karting, while Captain Croc and his Crew can keep the chuckles coming.

Guests are welcomed to Popular Apartments featuring a fully equipped kitchen as well as a lounge with TV and private bathroom.

The Queen Vic Pub serves up traditional English pub grub, real ales and fine wines, while the restaurant caters for cooked breakfasts and a wide variety of plates in the form of an all-you-can-eat buffet.

In Somerset, Brean Sands Holiday Park peers across the sands of the West Country coast to the waves of the Bristol Channel, while Camber Sands Holiday Park stretches in the east of Sussex, towards the historic town of Rye.

Southport Holiday Park is set in the rugged and blustery scenery of the North West Coast, offering tourists the chance to visit Southport's Lord Street, home to elegant shops and classic Victorian architecture.

Overlooking Welsh stretches of countryside, the Prestatyn Park sits just a 30-minute drive from Conwy Castle, a medieval fortress where holidaymakers may find out more about the region's ancient history.

We often have 'cheap' family holidays i.e. Haven Holiday parks and so thought to stop in a Pontins for the night to split up a journey from the south coast to Scotland. We drove for around 7 hrs to the Southport camp. It was so bad we decided not to stay for the night and keep driving for another 5hrs to get home, it was that bad! The chalet was dire, broken tiles, 70's decor, broken TV, fridge repaired with gaffa tape, rusty cooker, no lock on the toilet, stained quilts, dried paint in the bath. You have to make the beds yourself (they provide new quilt covers) and the food is school dinner style, queue up with a tray. You have to pay for almost everything, i.e. trampolines and bouncy castle, bmx park, games room etc although these were free as compensation because they had to shut the pool for safety reasons. Going to Pontins at any price is not a bargain, I wouldn't spend 7 days there if I were paid £50 to do it.

For anyone who thinks this is a great deal, ask yourself why it's on offer at a discount of 79%.

We made the silly mistake of taking a cheap 3 night weekend deal with Pontins in Suffolk. The room that we had looked as if it was awaiting demolition and the catering was shocking with most of it looking as if it was past its sell-by date. We managed to stay 2 nights but couldn't bear the thought of staying for a 3rd night and so, went back to the site after our day out, packed up and drove the 3 hours and 170 miles home.

Pontins continue to bombard us with special offers and we can't make them stop. We were so put off by our experience in Suffolk that we, genuinely, would not stay with them again if they paid us £100 per night.

Southport is a right dump, chalets were dirty & full of sand windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a while, swimming pool dirty, all the paint and bottom of the pool peeling off, food horrible, the list could go on and on, never again we left a night early, only went for 2 nights.

Think i am alone but went to Brean Sands last year for four nights (Christmas gift), upgraded our room and couldn't complain about a single thing. As a father to a young lady with eczema, it was very important that the room was hygenic and we had no problems at all. Infact, we are all looking forward to going again this summer.

We are not easily pleased but I understand we are alone in rating our Pontins break as a success - the room upgrade must have been key to it!
