this has been posted plenty of times before, first time im seeing under £30! was looking to buy to use with the hard drive i got from best buy last week. ordered through envizage solutions who also sell this through amazon but is 30 odd pounds.

heres the link for it at £28.90, you'll need to add it and then when you go to checkout choose collection from store. (direct clickable links in first post)

http://www.cclonline.com/product/44493/Sumvision-Cyclone-Micro-2/Media-Players-PVRs/Sumvision-Cyclone-Micro-2-Media-Adapter/AVD1563/

is this still the only media adapter that can play mkv files?

That's not the same version and can't do full HD
#3
Would have bought , but it doesnt support MP4 :/
#4
How do you get it from £29.46 delivered? Cheapest delivery seems to be £2.82
#5
Sumvision site says it plays mp4 Linky
#6
Ive got version 1 and version 2 of this and version 2 does play MP4, but I upgraded simply for MKV

Be warned though, the remote on this version is awfull, makes the remote on the original look good, and thats saying something...

Excellent price though, I thought I got one cheap off ebay for £33...

I have one of these and they are great. It plays everything you throw at it.The small form factor means they are very portable. I have just returned from abroad where I used it in a hotel room.
#8
Also got one of these and they are very good
#9
As previously said the remote is next to useless. It also reverts to a low sound that you have to turn back up each time it's turned on. No separate surround out, but it is a great little player & would be even more fantastic if they sort out the problems.
#10
Does anyone know of a good alternative to this?:| I have the original one of these that doesn't play the MKV format, however the menu is pants and when the battery ran out in the remote and I replaced it, it stopped working. :(
#11
anyone used envizage solutions before? never heard of them
#12
Had a similar problem with the remote, but with trial and error with a new battery got it to work again.

Is the price that good with delivery cost?
#13
You can use a Harmony remote with Cyclone micro's, much better than using the supplied remote

Saw this earlier but out of my price range;
AC Ryan Playon!HD Greenlife 2TB - Full HD Network Media Player with 2TB HDD and Wireless N!
@ iBood for £139.95 + £7.95 delivery.

http://www.ibood.com/uk/en/

or you can get one with a 500Gb drive for less than £100
or the Mini version for around £60 from scan and load the Mede8er firmware on it.

As an alternative I would recommend the WD TV Live player. It's regularly around £80 but totally worth it, go see my posts here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/wd-tv-live-digital-multimedia-receiver-73-49-delivered-using-code-windysaver-ebu/913011/#post11071214

Especially if a great user interface is what you're looking forward, I'll see about posting a video of my menus...

Can someone confirm that Envisage Solution is a cosha company.. I seem to remember some dodgy company with similar name mentioned on here.
Many thanks!

seen scan doing it for about 30 and seen the v1 in person at gadget show live, no v2. and im impressed, got PCH a110 but this is great for tv only solution if you dont care about sound. im definitely getting it when i go abroad.

steal at £30 or less, shame the remote is universally hated.

as the remote sucks, is there a SIMILAR PRICED option? forgoing the £50 plus for likes of WD, viewsonic, ac etc.

Sol

edit:just checked scan and its 30.67 if you get free next day. seen it for 29.xx on today only deals once.
ps im a scan fanboy lol

Another + vote here :) I use one of these on my old 32" CRT tv cos it can downscale my 1080p mkv files when I get banished to the spare room lol :) basic menu & horrible remote, but a great little play it all device, well worth the money if you don't need network ability
#23
Edit= got mine from scan for £30 a few weeks ago...

I have the original cyclone micro but am a bit fed up with it. Doesn't play every avi I try, for example MAXSPEED ones. Anyone know why? Any good deals on wd tv live?

Just found this "Divx DVD Player Sumvision Phoenix SV70" at scan.

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/sumvision-phoenix-sv70-1080p-hdmi-dvd-player-inc-sd-card-reader-slot-and-usb-port

It looks like a sumvision cyclone micro 2 but also includes a dvd drive. Also supports 5.1 surround sound by the looks of it. Might pre-order this instead

thanks op

I seriously don't know what this is and have never heard of it? I assume that you plug an external HDD into this and play DIVX / MKV filed on your TV? If so then this is just what I want...I think...

The MAXSPEED team encode the video file in mp4 and use an .avi container

The Cyclone 1 cant play mp4 even if the file type is .avi

WDTV can play mkv too!

Mine struggles to play MKV as the picture keep cutting out and coming back. I have tried a hard drive with its own power and does the same thing. On some occassions it will play a MKV file with no fault at all. Its very hit and miss but mostly miss. I have the normal Cyclone MKV2 and that plays everything fine. I don't think the mini has enough ooomph to run large files.
#40
will this play a 3d mkv file?
