Worked twice for me then decided not to even bother running the next time I tried it. Also has the habit of starting the movie again after 59mins, 59 secs....

Just bought - cheers!

Amazing little device. Plays everything I throw at it with flawless 1080p HD playback. And all that without even getting warm and being the size of a typical card reader. The remote is a bit rubbish but other than that it gets full marks from me. Has made my HTPC seem inefficient, outdated and redundant. All it needs to make it perfect is an Ethernet port for streaming media.

Can anyone confirm that this will support a USB hub with several (self powered) externals attached?

also, seems conflicting reports on NTFS compatability, anyone elaborate?
Thanks

Works fine with my 1TB NTFS drive, no problem at all. It can power my 2.5" 250GB drive aswell athough I doubt it could power a few tbh.

Ok thanks, was more a hub I was hoping to run through it

Can you confirm that it downstreams when outputting on HDMI, or just when outputting via Composite ? I have DTS VOBs that my PS3 plays ( has DTS decoder) but won't play via my Amp via HDMI

Does this come with a lead to connect it to a non HDMI TV?
I have a DVD screen in my car that has the Red, White & Yellow Phono connectors and it would be good to keep the kids quiet on a long journey.

Take out the extended warranty because the sumvision guarantee is worthless!

it converts dts to stereo on HDMI but i am fairly sure that it only plays on one output at a time. you cant for example have hdmi video with composite sound or vice versa.

Not identical at all as this one does MKVs and the one you mention doesnt, and its the MKV capabilities that make it that much more expensive.

Bought one for upstairs, but I get a better picture off my blu ray player that does mkv .
#21
Can anyone tell me if it decodes Blu-Ray subtitles from an MKV? I use MakeMKV to rip my Blus, think the format is HDMV PGS.
#22
it seams it doesnt play any 5.1 track , dts and ac3 comes out as stereo through my amp, maybe a future firmware update will fix this,
does anyone know where to get updates as there is no web address on the box

Ummm, I have this player for two months now, and Watched quite a few movies longer than 2 hours just fine. It could be a faulty device or your USB device going to sleep after a certain time?

does anyone use this with an older AV TV? are the on screen menus readable?

also is the remote usable and durable enough to last a few years?

Yes and mine wouldn't recognise a 500gb portable drive until i formatted from NTFS to FAT32.
#31
I've had one for ages, bought it when the cinavi drm was released and my ps3 wouldn't play some divx. Great little player. Only issues ive had are the ntfs incompatibility and having to find a program to format to fat32 as win7 doesn't do it, the crappy remote, and the brightness of the blue LED power light. It's SO bright it can distract u from ur film. Blutac coverin it works tho...

i use on an old crt and it works fine. menus easy enough to use.
remote isnt brilliant, but does the job and has lasted me well.

I've got one of these and it's great, seems to play 99% of stuff. I have it connected to a 1TB drive. Only niggle I have is it sometimes doesn't see files if I have subdirectories. If I have a folder for example called FILMS then a subfolder called HORROR then an avi file in there it won't show any files. I have to move the avi file to the FILMS directory for the player to see it. Can sometimes be annoying but apart from that it's cool.

I put a wd 500gb in ntfs through mine and it worked ok, as you need it in ntfs to play files over 4gb .

Hi, I bought a sumvision micro 2 from Dealtastic via Amazon. I recieved a TURNMEON2. I looked around on google and Dealtastic only sold them. I emailed Dealtastic and they said was a new line from Sumvision. I tried various files on the player and experience problems with MKV files would only play upto 38 mins and restart. If I fast forwarded past 38 mins would work fine. So I then contacted Sumvision and they told me this was not a product made by them. I contacted Dealtastic to advise and they changed and updated thier website removing the sumvision name and also the remote as they advertised a different remote. I have also sent the item back and got a refund. Never will deal with Dealtastic, they admitted to me was thier fault. They are not a distributer for sumvision.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Another thing you can do is that if you buy one of them 4 port hubs from poundland they will work on this so you can stick upto 4 drives/pens in this .
