Sumvision Cyclone Micro 2 Multi Media Player MKV HDMI £31.94 @ scan

stuattravsstuattravs

Good price for a media player that handles just about all video and audio files(including the all important mkv).

Some good reviews and free delivery for avforums members.

Not voting it cold but with no media centre compatability, it's no use to me.

yep but start adding that functionality and the price jumps up quite a bit, good for people with external hdds full of media

read the reviews does come with a remote, can honestly say that format isn't one that concerns myself but point taken, i only have a poor mans 720p set anyhuw:(

Ofcourse it has a remote (seen in the YouTube video below)! How else are you going to select the options/movies!

AND this is version 2 so it can play 1080p and Real media (RMVB).
You are confusing this with the older version 1.

Its actually one of the forums that i use quite often and find very helpful, if your looking into buying media players/streamers your probs gonna have a few questions.

Anyway isn't HUKD a fancy forum?

Sorry just realized this is a Cyclone Micro 2, with less with it. think I would still by the one from memory bits myself..

If your tv has HDMI connections use them with HDMI lead, the composite (yellow) and left /right audio (red and white) phonos are the "lowest " quality and cannot pass high definition signals or upscale video. Once connected with HDMI go into the settings and highlight the output your tv can take (up to 1080p).I have the older Cyclone mkv player and this micro is a quarter the size ,runs cooler, nicer graphic interface and also downmixes DTS soundtracks found on MKV files. Got this one for my Dad with 640 gb passport drive from Amazon for £55. Micro bought from Scan with free delivery courtesy of AV forums. Its a little belter and at least half the price of anything comparable.

    Doesn't do mkv

    Hi guys,

I have files on my PC would this work from that and then direct into my TV.
    stuattravs
You'd have to put the files on a external hard drive or USB pen drive then plug it into the player

Good player, full HD much better than the Mk1 version though the remote is awful.

Programmed my Harmony remote, responds great now (learning mode from original RC, as Harmony site doesn't appear to have the Cyclone Micro 2 listed yet).

Occasionally freezes in video mode - but only when you do too much button pressing, plays a full movie no problem at all.

Oh, and the audio is not brilliant, but just acceptable.

Was thinking of getting this foe my Dad. Out of interest can you explain the audio quality issue?
Also does this thing work well with TV episodes so it will play files in name/number order?
