This has been mentioned loads of times in the Dealextreme thread posted today I don't really think that we needed a post about it and its not really a deal as its always been around the same price anyway.

Version 1 of this Sumvision Player was dire. Crackling, sync issues and corruption of HD files are all I every got from it. Hope version 2 is better.

Hold on, the Youtube vid at the start of the OP isn't for the Sumvision, its for some other generic make from this post earlier:

Pair a universal remote/harmony with it ,should then work better.

Great price for an awesome machine. You don't get a little picture of the film when browsing through your media, but who cares? As long as it plugs into your TV and plays HD films is all that matters
#15
Considering ordering one of these to take on holidays..

Dealtastic have this for £38.94 (delivered) with a HDMI cable, OK not such a great price however...

Use code MMP10 at checkout to get 10% off media players which takes it down to £35.15.

You can also get Quidco at 9% (even with the voucher) so that would be £32 ish after cashback. The code was taken from the Quidco site and it does track properly as I used another code listed on the same page to get some other bits and pieces the other day :)

Hope someone can help on a really basic question - I don't have an HDMI connector on my TV, only SCART (which is currently linked to a virgin box and dvd player) I see there is a composite AV port on the Sumvision- does this mean I can use a cable with the red, yellow, white plugs plugged into the audio out etc ports on the rear of my DVD player, and a single AV pin on the other end? Or are the audio out ports *only* for audio out eg to external speakers
#19
So u want to upscale, but im only guessing but i think the sumvision only has usb input and the composite and hdmi are output, i cud be wrong! btw i have not yet got a sumvision player as yet!

I've never used a universal remote before, but might simply becasue the remote with the micro 2 is absolutely worthless, are universal remotes easy to set up, and would they support something like this?
I was under the impression that they were only meant for use with bigger brand-name companies on tv's and dvd players.

Apart from the remote this is a great little player, superb picture quality.

I use this mediaplayer on an old tv for playing torrents, it plays just about everything going. The tv is scart & composite , scart is used for cable and dvd and i connect this MP via the composite for sound and picture, picture is weaker via this method but sound is fine.
Also to confirm the remote control digital eye is tiny and works very badly with the MP, harmony remote is an average option for this player.

Many thanks to Adeo and Madridkickboxer.
So I need to buy a cable that is single pin AV composite at one end, and the standard yellow, white red RCA 3 pins at the other, to connect from Sumvision to TV? I've had a look on ebuyer, can't find, so will look further afield....Or would an ordinary co-ax do?....
#28
Your DVD player won't take a feed and output to your TV. You'll need to get a Scart switcher if you need to juggle your scart connections - you can get these with Composite (Red-White-Yellow) input, or if not get yourself a Composite to scart adapter (Make sure it's one that outputs to scart, or get a switchable one). Whatever you do you'll also need a composite (R-W-Y) lead.

Got this because of one word "Cinavia"

Thats the end of my PS3

My xbox360 will be following soon I guess...zzz zzzz

it works very well and the interface is not that bad..... it works like a usb drive on the ps3

plays everything but I think its only stereo out, not 5,1 or DTs etc

That's odd - I got one a year back and have had no issues with it at all ... maybe I got lucky

Got mine today, don't think they are that great, I get a better picture off my samsung blu ray player that plays mkv and 1080p .

The remote is crap, you have to put it near the box for it to work.
