I have had one of these for a while now and they are quite good. I use it when Im away from home and the hotel charges a fortune for a movie.

You will need an HDMI cable but the composite cable is adequate. SD card playback is excellent but I did encounter a little problem of stalling when I used a drive through the USB.

I would say the if you can afford the Cyclone MKV player then that is really good too and plays a lot more file types; its not too big either and the remote is much better.

The remote on this a little on the cheap and flimsy side and I have had one replaced already... but Ebuyer were good about that.

Little Bit of a problem with returns through Ebuyer they expect you to ring an 0845 number and hang on forever after you have already done the return through their website!!
They do organise a pick up of the item so you dont pay for that as such ... BUT the cost of the call mounts up ::x
According to best practice you should Never have to pay for return postage of a faulty Item; so this is their way of getting round that and recouping costs.

TIP
After you have done the return on line and if you can wait.... and wait
dont ring them for a week and you will get and email instructing you to return the item and if truly faulty they will reimburse you for £4 postage. supposedly :)

Long winded; hope this helps if you ever need to return something
The law requires that you not be out of pocket ever for a genuine faulty return

Put the returns number into www.saynoto0870.co.uk and you get a normal number to call which is free if you have inclusive calls.

I've just had a returns processed at Ebuyer and they sorted it within a week. My new item is due on Wed. I found they answered the phone quickly, but that may be the effect of using the 01 number rather than the 0845, or I may just have been lucky

Saynoto0870 is a great site

So I recant my previous miffedness at Ebuyer and thumbs respect and Rep and thanks

Been this price for a long time.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago. Supports DVD menus, so I can watch one of my many ripped (legally of course :whistling:) DVDs from a USB stick.

Upscale is pretty decent and it doesn't do a bad slide show of your photos. Remote is a bit fiddly but for the money it is superb.

Same here i used a geographical no from saynoto0870.to call tech support after submitting a warranty claim on the ebuyer site, only had to wait a minute.
I also raised a warranty claim online for a wireless mouse and the message i got said not to return faulty item and they wud send out a new one asap, did not even need to phone:thumbsup: BTW i did this approx. after 11pm, so maybe thats why i was not asked to phone tech support as they were probably closed!!

I bought one of these from eBuyer and it wouldn't play anything on my USB hard drive. Also 2 of the slide show transitions take over a minute to complete, which was very annoying when I was trying to show visiting family some photos!

I ended up sending it back to eBuyer (who were superb as usual) and exchanging it for a Western Digital TV player, which plays absolutely everything I've tried and feels 100x the quality.

Also, I agree that SayNoTo0870 is a fantastically useful site and has saved me £100s over the years.

Got this around 3-6 months ago for around £25. Don't see how this is a hot deal.

I own one of these and my only disappointment was finding out it doesnt support MKV =[

Can anyone advise how to record from freeview or sky even and playback on one of these things? I've recently seen a telly in aldi with USB recording from built-in freeview. Appreciate any feedback. :-)
