A stupid question I am sure, but does "Please note: The Sumvision Cyclone Micro HD Movie Player does not currently support MP4 files " mean that in future it might? That's how it reads but I can't see how...

Cheers!

I doubt it will in the future.

There has not been a firmware upgrade for this device since launch.

Also, note, not all USB memory sticks/hard drives will work with this and it is a case of trial and error to determine which ones will.

As long as the drive or stick you wish to use is formatted to FAT32, you wont have a problem. The unit will do this for you if you are unsure of how.

It works with a 320 wd portable drive, as i have tried it

It has a nice simple interface, plays vob(converted dvd files too)

It also comes with audio video leads, the red white and yellow ones, i plugged those into a scart connector to play on my sons tv has he still has a crt tv in his room

I also used a sd micro card plugged into a sd card adapter and it worked fine, i find usb sticks get broken easy

If MPEG4 is important, would a tenner extra to get one of these be better?

http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_7&products_id=109974&r=20101008

It's still pretty small and you could (I guess) stick an external 2.5" HD into the USB port...

Opinions sought, thanks all...
