Great unit, if you can aford a little extra get the Enclosure modelfor another £6.00ish and fit a big SATA drive to create a NAS networked system.

i would avoid the adaptor. it hasn't seen a firmware update for a while, and is soon to be replaced by a smaller adaptor. the enclosure has much better support, and has multiple clones being sold by different companies (originally from noontek, but also traxdata, mvix, etc), the best firmware at the moment is the traxdata one.

A guy called hairybiker has made some cool mods to the firmware. If you google "hairybiker traxdata" you'll find em.

Do you know if it supports NTFS formatted USB drives?
#5
i believe it does.

can it decode DTS sound without the need for a amplifier?

Has interlacing problems on Mpeg2 1080i . luckily only the Yanks and Japs use crappy Mpeg2 for HD broadcasts. The UK uses the far superior H264 codec. Simply rip (unprotected) files off your Sky HD sata drive and playback on this handy piece of kit.
