Hi, can you say what was wrong with it? Does it play HD mkvs or just upscales?

It upscales dvd's (quite poorly - jaggy edges) but plays dvd's nicely, videos through usb is a great function which works well, but it wont play any HD videos. It's nice & compact but the remote control is c**p.

Hope this helps :)

:oops:Sorry the up scaled picture was bad, very jagged edges. Other people reported similar problems

bad times :( ive bin lookin for one of these for ages too :(

I have this.

Agree that tthe upscalling is not the best but was comparing mine to a Sony BDP-S300.

I use all the time for playing through the USB or memory card slot.

biggest annoyance for me is the fact that it doesn't take SDHC

I've had two of these, both refused to play DVDs after a few weeks.

I have one, seems fine to me, the downside is that it doesn't play mkvs. Remote (as mentioned above) is fine, no problems.

I have one, it's a heap of junk, got it for about £28 from Scan, about £28 too much imho.

CONs
Sometime reverts from HDMI to another intefcae without warning (annoying having to hook up the scart just so you can use the menu to change back to hdmi).
Remote has too many buttons with - rather than reusing the arrows for FF/REW/Pause it has another set that are hard to find. In most circumstances most controls just say 'Operation not permitted'.
Without the remote you can do almost nothing (mine was missing when I first bought it).
Occasionally wakes in a bad mood and refuses to see the remote (switch off to resolve this).
Doesn't autoswitch from disk input to USB if no disk present.

Pro's
Unlike some other GotoTime buttons - you don't have to zero-pad the digits (on my Philips I have to type 00:30:00 to skip 30 minutes, but on this I press '30:00'.
Plays srt, sub, divx, xvid with no problems.

I've got 3 divx upscaling players (a Philips, the Kiss 1600 and this one) and none play mkv container files; in fact I don't even seem to be able to convert them to anything else.
I guess for mkv the best bet may be an Atom-based media-centre pc or a Fetch TV Smart box, but neither are in this pricerange.
