Tesco do accept vouchers from other stores, I used a £8 off a £40 spend from Sainsburys today

The key is they aren't for a specific item

But Tesco leave voucher acceptance entirely to each manager's discretion - so you never know where you are with them.

I would ask Tesco customer service first whether I can use this voucher in store before spending over £40 on grocery.

Some good deals :) any idea on the free Lego stuff that's running in the Mirror offer is it a while stock lasts thing ?
Just id collected the set through the week then got them all at the weekend as nearest Toys r us is maybe 7 miles away.

My local Tesco has a "we accept competitors vouchers" sign at the entrance.

FYI: The Pashmina with the Sunday Telegraph costs 2.99 postage, but no purchase of the newspaper is necessary. Just visit http://www.shop4online.co.uk/telepash and complete your £2.99 payment there. :)

As Newbold and Zeldadog mentioned, Tesco seem to make it up as they go along regarding which vouchers they accept....and they rarely feel burdened in sticking to what they say on their "we accept competitors vouchers" signs. If you challenge it when they decline vouchers, their view is that this is at the manager's discretion....I suspect they have been well-advised as to how far they can push this with regard to the Trading Standards point of view.

For an example of how hit and miss it is, I have had Farmfoods vouchers accepted, declined a few weeks after, and accepted a few weeks after that! On the occasion I asked for clarification I got the "this store no longer takes thee particular vouchers" answer.

It was probably because Farmfoods were sending out their vouchers as freebie inserts in the local paper and too many customers were using them from Tesco's perspective. After all, Tesco work on SUCH tight margins (_;)

Last time this offer was on, I asked customer services if they accept these vouchers and they said yes but when I tried to use it few days later the guy and check out said they don't, I asked for the manager and he said the same, I was well annoyed as didn't need all the £40 of food shopping that day so just left most of it at the checkout : / and went to Morrisons to spend it another day ....
#23
If my local Tesco dos not accept the voucher i'll just dump my shopping at the till!
#24
Theres also a voucher for build a bear, no min spend, thought was a pretty good deal, posted it in the vouchers here

Erm, did they ask you to hand over the voucher? And did you spend over £40? Morrisons is an hour away for me and Tesco is 3 minutes away so would like to use this but an argument with staff isn't worth £5 to me.

I asked if they took them, the lady said "if it was my checkout, i would scan it and if it accepted it i would take it"
I did spend over £40 just. i scanned it on the self service checkout and posted it in the coupon slot on the machine. didnt even fill it out!

Do you know how the discount works? It said the code was accepted but nothing came off the bill. The website wording sounds like it will just come off the first invoice - is this right?
