Voted cold, takes too long to cook

seen this earlier, chicken says it feeds 5 but i serioulsy doubt that! The veg bag contains potatoes, parsnips and carrots
#3
Good price, shame the chicken would no doubt have lived in appalling conditions.

Great price if you can't afford a real chicken!

Chicken is ridculousy small compared to how much veg there is.

Does your son still live with you then? ;-)

Think about the chickens!!!!

I may go for the M&S £15 deal. has wine and pudding and includes a beef joint. serves 4 apparently.
#13
Well, if you can't afford a real chicken you shouldn't be buying chicken at all! It's supposed to be a luxury item, not an everyday habit!

Website states for me: 1.5kg chicken & 750g seasonal veg selection? Although website keeps crashing and can't log on properly, maybe offer is different online.

I don't view chicken as a luxury item, its food, you need it to live on, so you buy what you can afford, or what you want to pay- that's life. I don't believe in making people feel guilty about buying a chicken, there are worse things that people can do in life, and more important things to worry about!

Logged on and states 3.5kg veg selection online too.

Sorry, but even I'm getting tired of the "don’t buy chicken this cheaply" brigade now.

How's about we just let everybody determine for themselves if they want to buy chickens at a cost which is (probably) relative to the animals welfare, without having the moral brigade raising their placards in disgust?

I'm not posting this to cause offense to anybody's opinions, and I should also state that in an ideal world I wish that all animals raised for our consumption should be done so in the most humane fashion possible. That said, at "the end of the day" how humane is killing any animal for our consumption?

The population of the UK (as with every other country) has a wide spectrum of inhabitants, with a finite amount of money available to spend on food. If this offer appeals to people, then a thank you is deserved to the OP.

I can't vote this hot because it is a bit ridiculous!

Saw it in Tesco last night - the chickens are standard birds that would not comfortably feed more than 3-4, while there's enough spuds for the 5,000. It's literally just a big bag of class 2 veg for a pound.

She's your mum - make her something nice. In fact, go to Sainsburys and pick up a feed your family for a fiver recipe card. She won't care it's not a Sunday roast, as long as it's cooked while her feet are up and she has a glass of vino in hand.

Is the Chicken raw when you buy it?
Prepared ready to go in the oven kind of deal?

Rubbish. The more we eat it, the more they'll put into their little houses. There's always room for a few more.

yes it does i got a extra large chicken in mime today should of been £9.70 for chicken alone
then picked up another deal with a beef joint that should of been £8.70 alone
considering the wine is 5.99 normally
then say £4 for dessert
then £4 approx for veg some £3
all for £15

hint if u want a better beef buy the one in plastic bag as there are 2 one is in foil tray bigger but the other tastes loads better
