Damn i could have bought this does anyone have a code i can use that might not want this deal? If not then fair enough

The deal is on again with tomorrow's (Friday) Daily Mail back page numbers so if you missed The Mail on Sunday offer you can still get a Now TV code sent to you

It looks like there's only one day pass per Mymail account though - including Sunday's offer
I've updated this deal title

Mesmerism works but will only do so definitely when sustained. Hands up those who think that those "News" are not only newsworthy but that they are actually real. Not when offers are bundled with the kaboodle. Content? What content when bargains are what their buyers are after. Speaking of which, hands up those who think that On Yer Face Porn will soon be liberated onto the newsprints. Not when whiter than thou is afrocking. A pity becuz The Politikos are dying to legislate their hobby into law.

Thanks for posting, the Lidl one is interesting especially if you want more then one of these -
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lidl-500gb-portable-hard-drive-29-99-from-8th-dec-1077238

How long is the Lidl one valid for? Are you sure it will be valid on 8/12/11?

Sorry, I haven't managed to pick up a copy of the paper yet.

How long do these vouchers normally last, assuming (maybe incorrectly) it's valid for longer then 4 days.

if they dont accept in your store a quick email complaint to HO will get you a gift card to the voucher amount..

Didn't when I wrote to them 3 times!

twice ive had a voucher refused and twice ive contacted h.o (gone straight to the top phillip.clarke now) and both times had an apology and a gift card sent out,

Dear *******

Thank you for your email.

I'm sorry to hear that you’ve had problems using a Morrisons £5.00 off
voucher in our ******* store and I can appreciate your
disappointment.

After looking in to this for you, I’ve found we do usually accept Morrisons
conditional spend vouchers. So I’m really sorry that on this occasion it
wasn’t accepted.

Please let me reassure you I’ve spoken to the Customer Service Manager in
store called *******. He also asked me to pass on his sincere apologies for
you not being able to use it on this occasion.

Richard is going to speak to all the cashiers and customer service staff
about this as he can imagine how frustrating and embarrassing this must have
been for you. By doing this he is hopeful that you won’t come across this
again in the future.

In addition to this, on this occasion I’d like to send you a £5.00 Tesco
Moneycard. I know this doesn’t make up for this but I do hope you'll receive
it with the good intentions that it’s meant with. So I could do this please
could you kindly forward me your address details and I’ll get this sent our
for you straight away.

Finally, I’d like to thank you for taking the time to contact me about this
as without your feedback we wouldn’t know where we're going wrong.

an older one

Dear Mr *******

Thank you for your email addressed to Sir Terry Leahy, our Chief Executive,
to which I have been asked to reply.

I am sorry for any upset caused when your local store would not accept your
competitor conditional spend coupons from Lidl, despite being told
previously that our stores accepted all of these coupons.

For your information, we accept conditional spend coupons from the
following competitors:

Asda
Morrisons
Sainsburys
Co-op
Marks & Spencer
Waitrose
Boots
Aldi

We continually review our own business strategy and how we perform within
the competitive retail sector. By accepting another retailer's coupons, we
need to understand how much of a benefit this is to our customers, in
comparison to the value it gives to our own business. With this in mind, we
reluctantly took the decision to no longer accept Lidl coupons. I am sorry
for any upset this has caused.

As a gesture of goodwill on this occasion, I would be happy to send you a
£5.00 Tesco Moneycard, to cover the coupon you were unable to use,
m00nie

Personally I'd rather buy the CD mentioned in post #6 above than give my money to the Mail to fund the mistruths it prints.
Mistruths such as? How is this any different from any other media news outlet?

Not much different at all really - which is why I refuse to buy any 'newspapers', but the Mail is particularly bad - something I have learned when seeing the reporting of stories which I know the facts about.
The only thing I could stand by them was "To cut a long story short"
They are going to sell loads of this. To your mum and dad and uncle. The website is more Rio era Duran Duran though.
Would rather do the Spandau Ballet than but the Daily Heil

Because they use the 'if you lie long enough and hard enough and never admit anything, readers (and I use that term advisedly) will eventually believe you' principle.

It's not so much the paper, more those that read it!!

If that were true, again, isn't that the position of every media outlet?

Well what a pallava this was. I reserved the first edition wrongly like many others on this site and the second edition had sold out by 11am - so nice one Argos for doing a national paper offer and not having enough stock and also putting two editions on your website but not in your printed catalogue.

An Argos staff member told me that he had reserved his and hadn't bought a paper yet. So Argos staff are reserving these for themselves. Staff grabbing copies has to be an own goal for Argos customer service too.

I didn't realise Argos staff couldn't get these too (_;)

I don't see how it is Argos' fault you reserved the wrong one.

Well, Argos staff shouldn't grab these as a) some staff may not have bought the paper and b) they should concentrate on honouring customer orders rather than serving themselves by reserving up local stock. As you have seen from people's comments, Argos weren't blessed with stock when they offered this sales advert through a national paper. It's an own goal for Argos.

Secondly, as you will read on this forum, there is a first and a second edition of this game on the website, but not in the catalogue. This is confusing for customers who may not have read the small print in the ad. What makes matters worse is that the offer is for the second edition of the game and not the first edition. When asked if they would honour my reservation by substituting it for the older edition, they wouldn't. Even though the older edition is, one assumes, of lesser value to the second edition.

And the level of customer service was bordering on apathy in my local branch - which is not the case in all Argos branches I must add.

Are the catalogue numbers different for the 2 editions?

Well I put my reservation number into the pay machine and it said it could not be honoured and to go to till, went to till and was told all sold out seems odd some reservations were fine and others not
Thats what they told me, but if you had stuck to your guns they would have probably found one!!If you still have your reservation number and voucher go back tomorrow and demand it. At the end of the day they will have to give you there own stock (as opposed to the daily express allocation) cause you RESERVED one!!

Also if your reserved today your email/text shows held until Mon 8th - if any help!!

My reservation 'couldn't be found' luckily for me (and not for them) it was 4.30, store was closing and I had plenty of time for them to find it........ and wow yes it turned up!! ;)
