Sunpak PF30X Flashgun Canon Fit £39.99 @ Currys

Saw one in cabinet in a London Currys. Price was 39.9'something (might have been .97 indicating a clearance price). No idea if this is national. Would have thought so.

I know there is a jessops one available for around £35, but that one is not compatible with a canon 40D.

Specs: http://www.intro2020.co.uk/pages/sunpak7.htm
Review: http://www.whatdigitalcamera.com/equipment/flashguns/666/1/sunpak-pf30x.html

Hope this helps someone.

I saw this in the Oxford currys.digital a couple of weeks ago. I think it is therefore nationwide, where they've got them. I was distraught! (I have a nikon).

Works with Olympus too - picked this up in Borehamwood Currys on the 1st day of the insane snow - so nationwide and this flash gets great reviews and is used by pros -good price

I seriuously doubt pro's use these, they don't have a swivel motion. Apart from the one I posted, and apart from the user reviews in Amazon, are there other reviews? Thanks.

I bought one, but cannot find anywhere that says it will work with my canon 1000d.

Has anyone used one with the 1000d? Can you conirm that it's okay?

I grabbed the last one from the Bath branch of Currys.digital today. Great find. Heat + Rep.

Can't believe this. Mine doesn't bloody work with my Canon 40D! I need to flipping send it back to Sunpak UK for a god damn firmware upgrade. Arrantly, only the newer ones come already upgraded.

Mine won't work with my 1000d.
Also no firmware from Japan for this yet.

Sunpak are a great make but if you can get hold of a Super 383 these are perhaps one of the best flashes money can buy until you get to pro level.

This doesn't get my vote I wouldn't buy a bulky flash that doesn't swivel tbh.

I bought four of these hoping one would work with my 40D. None did :-( So I've returned 3 of them @ Beckton curry's if anyone wants one.

Oh, and just a note fort anyone looking for camera stuff. I've rang a few Jessops stores, and they seem to be price matching again :) Maybe there in financial trouble? Not surprised if they are. Their prices are shocking

Nice one. And it's Canon S5IS compatible :)

Well I bought one at the weekend and it works great with my 400d, I also tested it on my brothers 40d with no issues.
It's easy to use and gives good results, at the default EV setting it slightly underexposed compared to my 400d on-camera flash, but set to +0.5 it gave the best results indoors. Maybe that was just down to the batteries I was using.
I'm really happy with it for the money.

great beginners flash, help you get on the road for flash photography, shame they dont have a swivel head, but for this price!

When you say it works with olympus, do you get all the dedicated features?

Fancy one for my e510...
