You'll be surprised when the players come down in price more and more people will adopt the format.

Will be popping along to my local Morrisons tomorrow for Reservoir Dogs and have alook at what else they got.

Voted hot from me!!!

you do know this is hotUKdeals right? you're supposed to converse in English, not "en Espanol"

anyways my local store doesn't store BDs at all, really annoying, the entertainment section is also rather small.
#18
Si. Si.

Es "HotUKDeals" no es "HotEnglishLanguageDeals".

Estas muchas Espangnols en Ingleterra. Me gusto los Hot Dealos.

SCORCHIO.

Vamos.

LOL, there are probably more Brits in Spain than the other way round, and HotUKDeals = Hot deals posted in English, ok.
#20
OK OK. I try to speak English.

Porque yo quiero (you like) los Diablos Rojos (Man U). You live in Scotland?

Me quiero Liverpool. Fernando Torres esta la numero nueve de Liverpool. Me gusto Fernando Torres.
#21
LOL I'm actually a big fan of Torres, my favourite non-Utd player, was a fan of his since Atletico days, waaaayy before he went to the enemy, wished he came to us instead, I'll take him over Berbatov & Tevez, but not Rooney or Ronaldo though.

anyways back on topic.

#24
unfortunately my local morrisons doesn't sell blu rays - they had to get rid of them as they weren't selling. LOL
might check the other store in my area tho
#25
Good deal but no morrison's near me. Good deal if someone can pick one up for cost but not really worth it with postage :)

Blu ray is the next big step from DVD's.....it just takes time for everyone to adjust

i remember years ago when dvd's were out (just in the same amount as Blurays now) and no one chose them, everyone still went for vhs
As soon as the price of recordable bluray players come down from the £599 price bracket there at just now...u will see an explosion.....dvd's will be fazed out and blurays will take the norm!!!

this wont happen over night but im saying give it about 3 odd years !

good prices

I'll be very surprised if DVD ever goes away, the difference with BR (and HD-DVD before) are that you need not only to buy a new player but you need a new tv. DVD you could buy a £150 player and a scart connector and hey presto, massive improvement over VHS. Now even if you get a cheap player and a small HD tv your looking at an outlay of £700+ which in todays climate many will view as a cost they can't afford.

Also alot of folk have bought up the old movies the like on DVD and even if they buy a BR player are loathe to buy the upgrade. Don't get me wrong, I love HD but your average joe schmoh can't see the difference and benefits as much as they could from VHS to DVD.

pretty good prices there. i wish i lived near a morrisons lol.

its much cheaper than that - hd tvs are very soon going to be all you can buy, so people will have to get one eventually and they can be bought for under £400 for a decent one and bluray players, there was one on sale for under £100 last week! and PS3 are the best BD player you can get and they are around £200.

also you have to remember it took 5 years for VHS to totally faze out. in around 5 years any new films coming out will only be on Blu-Ray - so people will have to get them then. Dont think the industry care about how many homes will have DVDs. i mean if we got all the unwanted VHS tapes in the country, well it would quite the pile. My local charity shop is no longer accepting them since they have too many - thats right you cant give away VHS to charity these days!

id say by 2014 most people will be converted and by 2016 you wont have an option. BluRay will be the only format to buy on. And a lot of them will be very cheap (all those out now will be a few quid) and people will snap them up. for those who dont want to wait 7 years well they are still great now.

The first DVD was released in 1996 (Twister, thanks gadget show!) and it was probably 2003 when VHS started to die so actually a good 7 years. Bluray have been around for 2 years now so yeah id say 5 years and its goodbye DVD. doesnt matter about the quality difference, its just the way the times change.

Back to the topic in hand though, blurays are at a much better price now than DVDs were in their 2nd year. heck i was still buying VHS over DVD in 2001. Infact if you look on swapshop.co.uk (a site where people can swap unwanted things for other things) dvd.co.uk and its subsidiaries sell on there, and they have the bluray versions of new films for cheaper than the dvd versions! Pineapple Express 1150 on BD, 1250 on DVD. and 1000 points = £10.

I remember paying £22 on DVD for Twister and £19.99 for Jim Carrey's the Mask.... back then, I used to love the DVD player deals they had in them days, woolworths with the GOLD proline dvd player with 5 free films for £119.00

god those where the days!...lol

See it's GREAT to see places like this starting to sell blu-ray movies and cheaply, but i sometimes wonder if there mispriced, when i see them at these low prices like this, because the staff dont know any different from dvd to blu-ray?

believe me that arent mispriced! everything except chart stuff comes in prepriced from the supplier. from then on the price will only ever go down! its only the chart prices that change
#36
Someone mentioned that Sainsbury's got a lot of the woolworths old stock for blu ray movies.... hence why they are so cheap

there was on offer on here a while back for Reservoir dogs blu ray for £2.99 from Sainsburys...

Same as that really, I think mine has approx 3 titles lol.

Anyway, totally agree with stinger regarding HD becoming the norm. As people upgrade TV's to one that is HD compatible as they all are now, it will just happen. Expectation of quality will rise and that will be that.

At the moment all movies I watch are HD. If it is not available in HD I'll wait till it becomes available. This all started from me watching just one decent BR movie... I thought the difference was just too much to turn back to the darkside. :-D

this site should be re-named www.hotukOPINIONS.com

blu-ray isn't the work of the devil you know...just accept it is better than DVD but some people will buy into the format and others will stick to DVD plain and simple

this is a good deal but why add pages of old women coffee morning banter???
