Cheers, thought this was out already? Think I was thinking of yooka laylee. Can always cancel closer to the time, good pre order price, especially with the touted 4k xone patch

The game was only announced a week ago :p

You're probably thinking of the Oculus Rift exclusive Lucky's Tale - but this is a new game.

This game looked so generic IMO. Plastic Mario!

Ori though, there's a game I'm excited for. The first was perfection.

It might not reach the level of Mario, but how many Mario-like platformers do you get on Xbone that's better than this one?

I saw similar critique for Rime - but again I just think 'finally something like this comes along'.
Yet FPS' for example hardly ever gets this complaint thrown at them for some reason.

Ori already showed how individual artistic style, music and story can create compelling gameplay on a platformer.

This cutesy pseudo Nintendo stuff is weak and generic IMO. RE FPS I see that reference all of the time, they're absolutely generic but multiplayer carries most of them via competition, platform doesn't have that luxury.

I couldn't get into Ori. I much prefer something like Rayman origins.
But these games are not similar to Super Lucky's tale as they are 2D platformers.

Ori was one of the best games of the last decade in that genre IMO, superb storytelling.

This just looks plain mediocre, we'll see! Mario Origins looks awesome though.

Character "design" is also a joke:

Nothing to do with Sonic & Tails:

Not sure why this is getting so much hate really. No it might not be quite the scale of the mighty (but IMO slightly overrated) Mario, but then will Mario be available to pre-order at £17.99?, I think not, probably about three times that the way Switch games are priced, so hardly a fair comparison. The PS4 and XBox One don't seem to get that many of these 2D platformers and I for one am interested to see how it turns out and happy to reserve judgement of it....

Oh I'll have to have a look into rime, I'm surprised I missed a platformer.
I have to agree with everyone's comments regarding ori, I think that announcement was my highlight.
R.e super lucky - I was interested until "his" sound effects and then realised it looked similar to another character. That and the fact yooka layee as unplayable due to VGMS and playtronic were less than helpful when the feedback rolled in. Team 17 on the other hand were the epitome of customer service! Congrats chaps. So I'll wait until this is released and the feedback is in. Sad really how something can change a person's willingness to play day one esp.at these prices. :(

Whoops sorry hadn't realised I went on, cheers op!

Wait so is this deal cold because people don't like the look of the game? I thought it looked really nice to be honest and £17.99 seems a decent price for release day (yes it'll probably drop pretty quickly as all purely single player games do). Think I'll pre-order as it'll be nice to have something shiny and new to play on my Xbox One X on launch day!

The 'death to all pre-orders' brigade will not be silenced, especially pre-orders with Amazon Prime incentives (_;)

Scientific evidence to prove that if you subscribe to Prime and pre order video games you're a bigger social outcast than Michael wrong' un Barrymore

RiME's not a platformer - it's more a puzzle game, along the lines of ICO.

That aside, it's a great little game and worth playing if you have the time and inclination.
