  The Maths is a little confusing but otherwise no reason to doubt the OP. Best Buy are closing down and many items have been reduced prior to now so I would advise crawling back under your bridges.
  
  OP if it scanned at £34.99 less 25% it would have been £26.24. Did they over-ride it and then take 25% off?

  Why does the maths not add up? It may have scanned through at £34.99, but the cashier would have changed it to the mark up price of £29.99, then taken the discount.

  29.99 / 100 x 25 = 7.4975, thus 29.99 - 7.4975 = 22.4925

  Wow, thats not bad price, i saw this in my local Best Buy a few weeks ago when they just started selling stuff off, i saw the £34.99 price of Mario Land and other 1st party 3DS games and was put off, even after discount. The non 1st party games were all around £29.99 tho but am not really interested in those. Now i wonder if this is a case of you got lucky? or that these games are all at that price when scanned? I might have to take a trip to my local tomorrow to see if the 1st party titles scan up at £29.99? they had loads of titles in my local last time i checked such as Starfox, Pilot Wings etc. It is a shame that Best Buy haven't received any new stock tho, such as the recently released Mario Kart 7 but it is probably to be expected what with them closing down and all. Anyhow, i managed to pick up Mario Kart 7 for £25 so i'm happy with that. I will be sure to go and investigate further at Best Buy tho, Cheers OP!

  I pointed out the marked price to the cashier when it scanned through at £34.99 and she changed it. All the copies on the shelf (in derby) were marked as £29.99. Sorry my explanation was a bit hazy :P

  uh, ok thanks for explaining a little better, now i know not to go crashing down to my local, as las time i was in there the marked prices were £34.99 for most of the good 3DS games, Its a good deal if your local best buy stocks em at £29.99 tho? "yer takes ya chances". :)
