Great for those notebooks without bluetooth, even better still it's NATIVELY SUPPORTED (no drivers) under Ubuntu and XP

Is it delivered from America...? Will probably take forever in the post lol

Here's one for 2.90 delivered from the UK for free....

I got one of these a couple of months back, it works fine on my PC
I have paired my mopbile and PDA no problems
Great price and deal time extreme is a very good site
I buy a lot from them with no problems to date

Hope this helps

mine lasted 2 days
#5
I have two - one and home and one at work - both working very well indeed with the native Windows driver.
#6
I have one and is always in my laptop, no probs
#7
OH couldn't get her XP netbook to work with it, never got around to checking it out TBH, probably something simple.

Ironically, it works perfectly with both my Hackintosh and (real) Mac, decent range, supports every BT device I've tried.
#8
I also have one of these. For "Windows 7" RC users the O/S successfully ticks all 4 boxes as it installs the drivers, but fails to let the user actually use the device. Still haven't figured out why it doesn't allow it...

FYI

these are good for the money .. having said this i some how knocked mine (it was on the side of my case, not the back so i guess i stupidly rolled my chair into it or knocked it with my foot) and the black casing fell into two, but it went back together good enough and still worked, blue tooth chip inside is tiny :D would buy another, cant go wrong for £1.50 really..

also might be worth mentioning the high delivery time? normally ~week or meyb 2
#10
I had mine in 10 days (inc a weekend) ... though I ordered other goods too :)

Yey It's the monthly posting of this deal! :(
#13
Waste of money.
No drivers, not compatible with all versions of vista.
#14
I bought one a few months ago too. Works fine with my Vista Home Premium laptop.
#15
COLD !!!!!

Bought this very item in April.

Worked brilliantly ..... for 24 hours.....then died.

Don't buy electronics from Dealextreme - it's all cheap, failed seconds with no customer support.

+1
I'd say the same for everything they sell
#17
i bought one off eBay for £1.39. shipped from Hong Kong, took just under a week to arrive.
#18
I've had 2 of these, 1 works when it feels like it, the other not at all. Just pay a couple of quid more
#19
had 4 from dx of these all working fine
#20
Seriously, this deal is posted almost every month!
#21
I bought a similar one when vista first came out and it worked fine. I'm ordering one for someone else now. Thanks v much
#22
Bought 2 months ago, great little thing, both work on XP and Vista basic.
#23
Got one of these a couple of weeks back and though it installed ok (XP SP3) it wouldn't connect with my phone and then locked up the PC. Binned it and bought one off Play for £5 which works perfectly.

Cold from me then but it's the first thing I've had from Deal Extreme that I've had a problem with so it won't stop me from using them in future.

:whistling:

Got two of these, work fine with XP, don't work with Vista (Home Premium) & works when it wants to with Win7 RC.
#25
I've had dozens for myself and friends, all have worked in XP ... AND can confirm Vista as well ... without drivers.

If they're not working properly, you're probably doing it wrong ;)

And yes, I am aware this is posted every month ... but with all the recent netbook deals and dealfails I thought a few people would find this handy.
#26
I got one of these ages ago and it works well with me desktop which runs Vista and my eeePC which runs XP. One thing to note though is that the Windows BT stack doesn't seem to work with BT headsets so if you wanted to use a headset you would need another BT stack like BlueSoliel.
#27
I have one of these and I run Vista Home Premium. I personally can confirm that it will not work with my operating system. Vista tries to install the required drivers, but fails then asks me for the relevant software to complete the task which was not supplied!
#28
i bought one of these last time they were posted on here - maybe a couple of months ago.

mine is still working fine - works perfectly with my mobile using Samsung PC Studio.

auto detected & installed by Vista x64 Ultimate - no problems at all - v.pleased :)

that happened to me when i disconnected it at one time - but then just restart PC & connect it again & that worked for me.

I wouldnt buy this from what people have said.

Personally, I am looking for a bluetooth dongle that comes with drivers for Windows 7. I want to connect my laptop via bluetooth (obviously) to my bluetooth speaker system. Can anyone recommend one that they have working with windows 7?
#30
Thanks - great find
#31
anyone tested out the 100 metre range?

Yes, I must be inserting a USB device incorrectly...

After plenty of attempts it never worked in Visat, installed, recognsed the device however it wouldn't connect & the device would then dissapear from device maager, not the USB port at fault either. Tried a bluesoleil stack from an old CD I had but still no joy.

Worked fine in Win7 for a bit, after a few reboots it now doesn't work & won't uninstall/re-install.

Why is this been reposted? It has been posted already, all that needed doing was the price changed on the original post last time.

Is been reposted coz I clearly felt like making a dupe.
#35
Already been posted about 7 weeks ago, going to the same link

#36
Yep I reposted it to annoy and anger everyone who has seen it a million times ...

Does it matter ?? It hasn't been posted in 7 weeks (well over the month re-posting time?) The reason I posted it again is for the benefit of new users and alike.

I hope some people manage to get one, ignore all the irrelevant comments.
#37
if this does not work for some of you then did you guys ask dealextreme?
I remember telling another similar company that my freebie torcch did not switch on, and a week later I received another one through the post that was working! Just because they are in another country doesn't mean there customer service is always going to be poor.....

I also have one of these - works fine on my XP desktop, my Vista laptop and my Win7 netbook - I don't have the issues you seem to have. My bluetooth stereo headset works absolutely fine with this dongle on my Acer (Win 7).

I bought two of these last time they were featured on hotdeals, both work great. One i use on my work Windows XP desktop with no problems at all, works to connect my phone and provide data trasfer without the need for any drivers at all.

The other one i bought i use at home with Windows Vista Buisness and again works with no drivers installed and have no issues with it at all. Great product great price if going by my experiences.

After asking friends with Vista an Win7 they agree. I can only presume there's a small failure rate in these units.

Users often post when something goes wrong, but not so much when something works well ... so you end up with a thread demonizing the seller and the product.
