this game has been on the 2 for £15 shelf for ever.
We bought it and thenunderstood why.
It is ok for the very young ones but nouthing like entertaining enough for players of 8 plus

Thats why i put it here, as in another thread someonewas told the cheapest you could get it for was nearly £16, so its a hot deal, if you like this sort of thing and want it

Anyone got this and can say how it fares up to the Gamecube original? I loved super monkey ball 1 when the gamecube first launched... is this as good?

i didnt have a gamecube but, you move your wii remote with you wrist very lightly to make the monkey in the ball roll, and its very, well, could make you `sea sick`. :w00t:

It's ok, the multiplayer games are the best, which can also be played if your on your own.

it's a real let down, the controles are awful and it gets really anoying really quickly after playing the amazing GC versions,

i'd stay well away from it.

got it for £4.97 from currys last month for my 5 and 8 year olds. at that price i don't mind it it's a bit rubbish!

Got it ages ago for £13 from Zavvi.

I have to say I was initially not that impressed but this and Mario Party 8 are the ones my kids (3 between ages 5-10) come back to again and again....deffo worth it at this price if you have kids to play the games with.

An adult purchaser would probably be better off with the gamecube version as you feel you have more precise control over the single player game and the best of the party games (for adults) are all on there anyway.

The controls are fine for the main game but some (ok, most) of the minigames suffer from some of the most unwieldy (but in some cases bizarrely ambitious) motion controls imaginable. Its not as good as the GC games but i think its a bit of a stretch to describe it as awful.

Its a lightweight launch game, but if you fancy it its probably worth a go.
