The ASDA one is very possibly a misprice. (Meant to be £14.99 for SF4, not SUPER SF4 which is £24.99 in my local.)

Tempting price but have a back catalogue of games to finish thanks to HUKD so i'm gonna resist.

Of course it is, which is why they've made so many iterations of it over the last 20+ years, attracting millions of fans, and why fighting games even exist at all.

No Capcom just likes to over milk their franchises.

Such a big flop that they've only sold millions of copies worldwide and still people are playing this and older versions of street fighter.

Not to mention worldwide tournaments that are held several times of the year.

Capcom are so thick, they just keep making the same game and not make any money

Thats possibly the most ridiculous comment i've seen on here in a long time! Yeah massive flop, i'd hate to rake in the cash they've made on that franchise, must be pennies!
#11
SSFIV certainly isn't for every fighting gamer out there though.

Tekken 6 is gonna be £14:99 on July 9th (Amazon)

Platinum title.

Yeah, unknown game... If you spend £20 more you can get a decent game like Sony Street Flopper :w00t:

wrong again, tekken isn't £15?

here u go £14.98, tekken 6. This game dropped in price so quick from an rrp price of £39.99 was it?

SSF4 was always going to be a budget release but the price didn't crash like it did with tekken 6, i got mine for £12.99. Besides Tekken and SF are 2 very different fighting imo.

I received both games last week.

And Tekken is still better and more fun and easily accessed.

Wrong, its only that price on Xbox. The PS3 price is £23.29. The reason why its that cheap on Xbox is because up until now Tekken was a Playstation exclusive game so most of the fans for Tekken have PS3's. Simply, people aren't buying the Xbox version because they prefer the PS3 Version and thats why Tekken is cheaper on Xbox.:whistling:

That's coz its new.
The more you play them the more you'll come to appreciate the depth to SSFIV and give up on Tekken for its shallowness.

Copies sold worldwide. Info from vgchartz.com

Street Fighter IV (PS3) - 1,543,015
Street Fighter IV (X360) - 1,385,993

Tekken 6 (PS3) - 1,409,785
Tekken 6 (X360) - 731,072

Yep, Street Fighter is a flop. And yep, people prefer Tekken on the PS3 to Street Fighter....

I've been a long time fan of both the Tekken and Street Fighter franchises. There's definitely room for both Super Street Fighter 4 & Tekken 6 to be popular and successful titles.

The fighting dynamic of the two are wildly different, but I must say of recent I've been enjoying Street Fighter for it's apparent simplicity and instant accessability. While all of the characters play differently they share a similar control system that lets you get going right off the bat. And it's hidden depth is insane. Frighteningly so, in fact! Just when you think you've mastered a character you play someone online who schools you something rotten, and it's back to the drawing board and time to rethink strategies. It's amazing how Capcom have gotten so much balance and variety in style of play out of a relatively small handful of moves.

Tekken 6 on the other hand requires a lot more initial time investment before you'll feel any good, and if you're a first time player, finding a character to concentrate on learning will take time as the roster is huge! Almost too big! There is depth there, but I wouldn't say it is as well implimented as in Street Fighter. I do enjoy the amazing variety of moves each character has. But sometimes it does just feel like a memory exercise when rolling out the 10 hits, and the chain-throws. I'm being awarded with flashy moves & big-damage combos not because of my skills, so much as my ability to remember a sequence of command inputs. In a twisted kind of way, it's this about Tekken that I do actually love, especially when playing against another good player, as it's not so much that I know how to pull these moves of as it is that I'm able to do it against a capable player. It's showing off essentially (why input a complicated throw command when a simple RB&RK command results in the same thing?), which is fine!

The biggest difference I've noticed between the two while playing at home is that with SSFIV I'm playing for fun, and with a variety of characters, but with Tekken 6 I'm playing for Achievements and tend to stick with 3 or 4 characters because I know learning someone new will be a long, sometimes tedious process...

... I'm still pretty much untouchable with Paul Phoenix though! :p

Thanks for joining the forum to return my post, i am flattered.

I am not about to start a war about which platform this is better on i am talking about the general release. I understand it was meant to be an exclusive but it did not turn out that way but still it doesn't change the fact that it is hovering between £15-£19 (on both platforms), and with an original price of £40 it is a pretty steep drop, which goes back to my original point.
Oh and if u check Amazon price for the ps3 version is £17.99 (you may have been looking at another seller). :whistling:

Anyway it's all down to opinion if a game is good or not, and in I enjoy playing SF4 more than T6. TekkenTag is still my favourite tekken, KOF98 is probably my fav 2d fighting of all time, and SSF4 is just fun new game to play.

It's actually appeared on the GBA as well so not quite a PS exclusive up to this point.
